[e-users] Changing System Resolution Results in "systray duplicate" error

2012-03-21 Thread Jeff Hoogland
I've had two users now report that the latest E builds are causing an issue
when they change resolution (both via randr directly and the E tool):

"every time I change the screen resolution I got an error that

---
"Another systray exists"

"There can be only one systray gadget and another one exists"
--"

Removing all systray gadgets still results in this same message they claim.
Is anyone else getting this issue or is it limited to my Bodhi packages?

Just tried it here, worked without problem. Used the settings panel to change
resolution.

Re: [e-users] Changing System Resolution Results in "systray duplicate" error

2012-03-21 Thread Jeff Hoogland
Further report -

If I have a systray on my shelf and change resolution, I get the error
message and the systray (my only one) vanishes. In I change resolution a
second time - I get no error message and my systray reappear in the place
it is suppose to be. If I change resolution a third time - same error
message and the systray vanishes again.

Changing resolution around appear to repeat this process back and forth.

Re: [e-users] Changing System Resolution Results in "systray duplicate" error

2012-03-21 Thread Jeff Hoogland
In case it wasn't clear from the last message - this error message only
occurs when the systray is present (pardon my first email where I said it
always happened - the users implied it always happened).

Are you changing resolution to one where the systray would be off
screen?

I am not. Systray is on a most empty shelf with lots of open space and I am
changing from 1920x1080 to 1680x1050

Re: [e-users] Changing System Resolution Results in "systray duplicate" error

2012-03-23 Thread Shane McGuire
I can confirm that I am facing the same issue as well. For me it occurs
when I switch off my laptop screen and use my external monitor using nvidia
official driver. Resolution goes from 1600x900 to 1920x1200.
The only workaround I can see is removing the systray from the shelf after
the shift in resolution and then re-adding it again.

Is the amount of systray instances counted by the shelf or by systray
itself?

Cheers,
Shane
