[e-users] Systray in shelf only below everything

2009-03-31 Thread Paul Kuntke

Hi,
I've experienced some strange behaviour of the new systray-module. I put the
module to a shelf. If this shelf is below everything the systray works quite
fine. But after setting the shelf stacking to "Below Windows" or "Above
Everything" the systray appears red and no application can connect to it but
any other systray says that there's already an systray.
After setting the shelf back to "Below Everything" it works fine again.

Has anyone experienced this behaviour, too?

2009-04-01 Thread Fabio Falcinelli
It works for me too, I'm actually using the module on a shelf that is
"Above Everything".

I've just noticed these:
- when I first load the module, it will appear with a red/pink
background, but after a while it turns correctly and I see contents as
expected. I suspect this behaviour is due to the bling module here,
and it's not much annoying cause lasts very few moments.
- to see correctly some icons (e.g xchat that firstly appears too big)
I have to check the "Automatically scroll contents" and "Able to be
resized" boxes, that is a bit weird.

Best regards,
Fabio

Hi,

by me it works when I modify the shelf in order to be "Above
Everything". But at the beginning, when I load the module, the "below
Everything" is enabled...the systray appears with a red/pink
background too. But it isn't the blind module...I don't have it.
otherwise the systray module works correctly :) thx for that!

red bg: (half transparent red, seems pink on b&w, sorry!) means you
cannot get the "selection", it is an X system to have a single token
and control who has it at a given moment. Should not be a problem if
no other systray is there.

the current code expects the gadget can grow inside the shelf, there
is no code to clip contents, so autoscroll and others will probably
not work. I have no plans to change this before fixing the transparent
backgroung thing, as it's likely dependent on the missing bits.
