Pciconf is not relevant here. Which OS/version are you using?
If it's a FreeBSD then take a look at ports.

Hi,

if you run install.py from the unpacked archive, it will do all the neccessary 
steps (including uninstallation of a previous version). Don't run install.py 
from a source code checkout.
