[Ethereal-users] Network traffic

2003-12-04 Thread PaulT
Just started using ethereal ( I am using 0.9.8 rpms and have installed
ethereal-base, ethereal-gnome, ethereal-usermode, ethereal-gtk+, are
there any other packages I should install?), an excellent tool, and am
having some trouble seeing all the traffic on my network (about 8 PCs,
mostly Windoze, with some Linux PCs) using a Firewall router connected
to cable modem. From my Linux PC (RedHat 7.3) when I run ethereal I am
only seeing broadcast packets and packets to and from my PC. I am not
seeing packets between other machines (I have promiscuous mode set).
Could this be a problem with my NIC card or the general network setup
(router configuration??). Any help appreciated.
