[EVDL] Government Exonerates EVs> up2 5yrold $-30k used EVs-only
https://news.co.cr/costa-rican-governments-exonerates-used-electric-vehicles-to-promote-their-use/77241/ Costa Rican Governments Exonerates Used Electric Vehicles to Promote Their Use November 9, 2018 Laura Alvarado The Costa Rican Government announced a package of decrees and a directive to promote the use of electric cars. At the beginning of this year the Government approved the Electric Transportation Bill which established several tax exemptions on new electric cars of even 100% depending on the cost of the same. This new decree benefits those that want to buy used electric cars of no more than 5 years and a value of under $30,000.00 USD by exonerating them from the selective consumption tax that corresponds to a 30% of the vehicle’s CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) value. Electric cars will not have a restriction of transit as it occurs today for all other vehicles that have restricted transit once a week in the Great Metropolitan Area. The purpose of the bill is to promote the use of electric vehicles by making them more affordable, and in this way reducing contamination and benefiting the environment. The Government is also working on switching the public sector vehicle fleet to all electric cars. The new regulations do not apply to hybrid vehicles but only 100% electric cars.
