[Evolution] New problems with 0.15 and IMAP
Hi! I have som new problems when running 0.15 that I didn't see in 0.14. First of all, if I click the disconnect button in the bottom left corner, first Evolution Calendar crashes, and then Evolution itself. And from time to time, Evo sort of freezes when I am reading an IMAP folder. I am running the Debian potato ximian-gnome distribution. [Evolution] HTML Attachments
Hello, when I get a mail with an HTML Attachment and I wont to reply to the sender (reply with option inline) I get the problem that the composer completly changed the colour to the backroundcolour from the HTML Attachment. So it is very hard to read something on a dark backround. -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen Jürgen Meurer BAD GmbH Herbert-Rabius-Str. 1 53225 Bonn Tel: 0228/40072-70 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
[Evolution] Weird IMAP folder behaviour...
I have a couple of IMAP folders on my IMAP account that I filter mail into. Mail seems to get filtered OK only about half the time. Sometimes the filtering does not kick in at all. The other weird thing is that sometimes after some mails have been filtered, they show up in the INBOX again. I know the move is working because when I check with Mozilla, the mails are in the right folders. I am using 10/04 CVS snapshot. Ideally, the "Add Event" dialog would have UI for specifying whether I just wanted to add the next occurrence of the event or wanted the reminder to be recurring, instead. [Evolution] Can I do this in evolution?
I've been using Evolution since 0.12 and like it a lot (I'm now using 0.15 on RedHat 7.1 (i386)). I will like it even more if I find out how to do these things: 1) When the folder is selected, have the highlight automatically move to the first unread message in the folder. 2) Make a ``template'' I can create messages from. Also, I want to be able to send these messages to a number of people. Can I create something like a mail alias? Would I do this with a vfolder? 3) Use emacs-type cursor movement and editing commands in composer window (at least C-f, C-n, C-p, C-v, C-b, C-d). 4) Stop reordering of threaded messages when messages earlier in the thread are deleted. 5) Have the new message count in folder display update correctly and automatically. 6) Display double-byte characters (e.g. Japanese). Also, you can set the character encoding for outgoing messages to iso-2022-jp (and shift-jis and EUC) but I can't get my regular Japanese tools (kinput2 and canna) to work at all inside the composer. 7) Be able to use an external editor (such as emacs). 8) Actually be able to use the evolution conduits with my Palm Pilot. (The calendar sort of syncs; EToDo causes segfaults; EAddress crashes wombat and segfaults). If anyone can tell me how to do these things I'd be real grateful. -- __ Stuart Luppescu -=-=- University of Chicago $(B:MJ8$HCRF`H~$NIc(B-=-=- [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.consortium-chicago.org/people/sl.html http://musuko.uchicago.edu/pubkey.asc for PGP Public Key ICQ #21172047 AIM: psycho7070 PGP signature

Re: [Evolution] Palm sync successful, no display in Evo
It has worked here. I did see however that when the conduits to sync both to Ev and the Gnome address book and calendar that the Gnome address book and calendar did not sync. I've always had intermittent problems syncing with the calendar anyway. I turned off the Ev syncing and it synced with the Gnome address book. One thing I had set in the pilot conduits that really screwed up my settings on my Palm was setting it to sync, rather then copy from pilot. When I had sync set it emptied some email and address entries on my Palm, defaulted all views on the pilot to default to the work phone number, and any entry in the Palm address book that had a note attached, is now gone. I know leave it on copy from Palm. Re: [Evolution] NEW problem with Evo and encryption
This problem is not anything new, this has always been the case with in-line PGP encrypted messages. If you got a properly encrypted message (PGP/MIME), you'd be able to reply via plain-text. The problem with in-line pgp encrypted messages is that we have to do evil hacks to detect and then decrypt the text and show it in the viewer. When we go to reply, we use a different code path that looks for the "message body" part and sends that off to the composer. It doesn't do any evil hacks to decrypt pgp encrypted blocks. [Evolution] More info for bug 5348
For some reason Bugzilla won't let me log in... It sent me my password, but then says I have a bad user name when I go to use the same email address and password it just sent me... Anyway, here is some more info regarding the Exchange bug where Evolution doesn't update the new message count properly: If I send myself a message when the INBOX IS selected and hit send/receive 100 times, the message count will NOT be updated. It will only be updated when a second new message arrives, at which point only the FIRST message shows up as new. If I send myself a message when the INBOX is NOT selected, and I hit send/receive, the message count IS updated with the message I just sent. Knowing this last, perhaps there could be a workaround put in place (If only for 1.0... this is a _really_ annoying bug..)? Now for my gripes :) 1) No message is selected after I apply a filter that moves a message into another folder. This is annoying because when I then press an arrow key, the selection jumps to the top of the message list. Contrast this behavior with expunge, which when you have selected a deleted message, press ctrl-e, then the the next message in the list is selected. 2) Along the same lines as (1), when you have several hundred messages in a folder, and you mark one for deletion near the top, highlight that message again, and then press expunge, the scrollbar and view jumps way down to near the bottom, even though the next message down from the expunged message is selected. Has anyone else noticed these things (or more importantly, logged then in Bugzilla)? -- Richard Ziegler Release Engineer / ClearCase Administrator (617) 503-0442 CertCo, Inc. ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
[Evolution] Unread message counts don't dissapear
Hey there, I'm using the debian-packaged evolution 0.14 that comes with SID, and occasionally, the unread message count of my folders does not dissapear after I've read all my new messages. This used to happen with an older (pre0.10) version of evolution, but would repair itself when I checked mail again. now, however, the only way to get accurate unread message counts consistently is to quit and restart evolution (sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes it doesn't: no real consistency in behavior that I can find) -JOe ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
[Evolution] Focus on message list?
I am finding whenever the list updates new messages it resets the focus to about 1/3 Up. Said another way, instead of looking at the last message received, it is jumping to about 2000 out of 3600. Anyone else seeing this? -- Zot O'Connor http://www.ZotConsulting.com http://www.WhiteKnightHackers.com ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution

But this wasn't the > case for others who had the problem. I don't recall what their fix > was. It's in the archives from a month or two ago. I'll look when I get home. The strange thing is that I have installed evolution on my "clean" school computer and it works fine. My problems are on my home computer which used to run evolution fine until my unfortunate accident. I've compared the files in /usr/share/oaf on both computers and they seem to be identical, but one works and the other does not. :-( As I said before, I purged evolution (and all of gnome) from my home computer and then reinstalled. All to no effect. Note: I'm using apt with the ximian Debian packages on a Debian potato system. Matt ___ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
[Evolution] problem with outgoing filters
I'd been having a problem with Evolution crashing every time I sent an email since about version 0.14. It was getting pretty annoying, since I manage to send quite a bit of email. I figured it was something with a bad build, but when the problem was still happening 2 CVS versions later, I decided to do some investigating. It turns out that Evolution is having problems with my outgoing mail filter. I have a couple different email accounts that I might be sending mail from, and depending on which I'm using, I want the sent mail to go to a different imap folder. So the filter is set like this: Source Account is [EMAIL PROTECTED] Then Move to folder sent-mail (imap folder) It doesn't seem to make a difference if the folder in question is an imap folder or a local folder. When the filter is in place, the evolution-mail component crashes, and I need to restart evolution to be able to use the email functions again. The mail does get sent, but is not in the correct folder. If I remove the filters, I don't have this problem. If anyone has suggestions as to something I've goofed up, or maybe I found a bug(?) I'd be happy to hear! BTW: To the ximian guys. Thanks for working so hard on such an excellent product. I've been using Evolution since January, and I've seen it come a long way. Great work! [Evolution] Evolution's mbox support
Hi, all. Firstly, I've just upgraded to 0.15 from 0.12; congratulations to all involved. I've decided to install xbuffy on my laptop and have it run over X/ssh to my work machine, reading ~/evolution/local/@folders/mbox - it seemed like a good idea at the time. xbuffy works fine in 'original mode'; giving the total mail count rather than unread. The unread count, though, seems to stay at 0 whether a message is unread or not. On further investigation, it seems Evolution doesn't change the 'Status:' header at all. Why is this? [Evolution] Bugs in beta 5
My filters seem to have stopped working. And the problem with the mysterious hangs has gotten worse... During scans of the IMAP folders it locks up the whole system (even once it reaches 100% of the scan) and stays that way for several minutes. [Evolution] No sig when forwarding?
If I forward in-line, or quoted, my .signature does not get appended to message. Forward attached, put the .sig in. Is this normal behavior?
