Re: [Evolution] idea for vFolders

2002-11-29 Thread Ron McKeating
If we are having a wish list, how about the ability to create a vfolder
of all email older than x days/months/years.

[Evolution] Did it again

2002-11-25 Thread Ron McKeating
I just had a recurrence of a problem I had last week after I upgraded
evo. I had exited and restarted. Now my root folder was my inbox with
the message this folder cannot contain email. Can anybody tell me why
this keeps happening. I fixed it same as I did last time, I deleted my
evolution directory and re ran evo, then copied my vfolders and other
config stuff back in.

[Evolution] Inbox

2002-11-20 Thread Ron McKeating
Hi all,

I have had a very weird experience with evolution 1.2 this morning,
figured I would see if anybody could shed some light on what may be
going on.

Our mail server MTA is a linux box running exim with exiscan controlling
spamassassin and kaspersky.

We decided as part of our testing of spamassassin to create a new folder
for me (test user) called SPAM and subscribe me to it. We did this on
the server not by using the evolution client. When I restarted evolution
to see if the folder had turned up, it had, but something had gone
really weird with my root folder. Instead of the root folder being my
account name, and the first available folder with mail in it being
inbox, inbox had become the root folder. When evolution first runs it
now highlights inbox and the panel at the side says "This folder cannot
contain email". If I clicked on the root folder it just defaulted back
to the inbox. I could read all the other folders but not the inbox.

In the end I moved everything in my evolution dir to a dir called
oldevolution and re-ran evolution. It created everything from new and
now all is well. I still have the old files if anybody would like to
look at them.

Anybody got any idea what was broken ?

Ron

[Evolution] Inbox

2002-11-20 Thread Ron McKeating
We had our mail server (linux running exim) create a new folder
called SPAM in my Maildir, it then subscribed me to it. Using
spamassassin we are detecting mail with high spam scores and putting
them into this folder. However since doing that this morning I can no
longer get into my inbox. My inbox is now the first mailbox highlighted
when I run evolution (1.2) the panel next to it says "This folder cannot
contain messages". Now this normally appears on my account name (the
folder that is parent to my inbox). Now I cannot select the parent to
inbox, if I click on it it just goes back to the inbox and the above
message is displayed.

This definitly happend after we created a new folder and subscribed to
it on the MTA. Is evolution unhappy about other software creating
mailfolders behind its back ?

Anybody got any ideas or advice ?

PS Thanks to Chris Toshok for the last bit of advice, very helpfull
thank you.

Re: [Evolution] Spell Checking

2001-11-02 Thread Ron McKeating

Thanks for that, it is indeed now working like a champ. I just wander
how much that support call would have cost me if I had made it to MS.
Thanks to all of you who replied and give your support free of charge.
You are doing a great job.

[Evolution] Spell Checking

2001-11-01 Thread Ron McKeating

At some stage in the frenzy of updates in the last week or so, spell
checking has stopped working when I write email. I cannot find any
reference to spell checking in the menus.

Anybody got any ideas or point me in the right direction.

[Evolution] red carpet problems

2001-10-25 Thread Ron McKeating

My redcarpet summary tells me there are the following minor fixes
updates:

evolution 0.16.99-snap.ximian.20011024214415.53 MBNew snapshot
build
GNOME HTML Display Engine
(gtkhtml) 0.15.99-snap.ximian.200110242144806 KB New snapshot build
libgtkhtml190.15.99-snap.ximian.200110242144614 KB New snapshot
build

But when I click on update now I get

Package gtkhtml needs package libgnomeprint.so.15 which cannot be found.
Package evolution needs package libgnomeprint.so.15 which cannot be
found.
Package libgtkhtml19 needs package libgnomeprint.so.15 which cannot be
found.

So where do I get this package and how come it is not included in the
redcarpet updates ??

[Evolution] Upgrade

2001-10-05 Thread Ron McKeating

Red carpet just told me there was an upgrade to evolution, so I told it
to go ahead and install. However it stopped with the following errors

Information from the packaging system:
Unable to complete RPM transaction: dependencies are not met:
evolution-0.15.99-snap.ximian.200110040808 requires bonobo-conf >= 0.11
evolution-0.15.99-snap.ximian.200110040808 requires mozilla >= 0.9.3
evolution-0.15.99-snap.ximian.200110040808 requires libpisock.so.4

Any ideas ?
