[Evolution] Replying to list sends message to myself

2001-11-27 Thread wolfi_z

Hi fellows,

I have noticed, that sometimes (with no recurrence pattern, this happens completely
incidentially) replying to list sends the message only to myself and not to the list.
I haven't found this on bugzilla, and since I am still using 0.15 I am not sure if
this is still an issue now, or if it is even known

Hi Dan,

I will post it on bugzilla as soon as it happens once again. I cannot tell when this
will be, because this phenomena does not unveil any kind of cause to me :-)
I assume you are talking about the message source, aren't you?
When this has happened, up to now I always opened the message, 'as new', and re-sent
it where I would have liked it to be sent already in the first attempt ... but that
means, of course, I changed the recipient manually.

Have a nice day anyway!

Hm. I assume it always works the same way for any given message? If so,
please file a bug in bugzilla and attach a message that it does the
wrong thing for.

[Evolution] replying to list sends message to myself - apparently SOLVED

2001-12-01 Thread wolfi

Hi,

Recently I wrote about this behaviour, and meanwhile I am comparatively
sure about its origin. It happened to me with the SuSE Linux list, btw.
Works like that:

- I send a message to the list
- Someone does 'reply to all', I receive this message twice
Once for me and once via the list
- I do reply to list, evo mistakes my email-adress for the list adress
and sends the answer to me

So apparently it is a consecutive error from the unluckily very common
behaviour of 'reply to all' in mailing lists.
The only fix in evolution for this would be everybody using evolution
and using 'reply to list' correctly ...

Cheers ...

Wolfi

I'm not able to reproduce it...

I just tried Reply-To-List to a message that was to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
and cc'd to me, but the composer popped up with [EMAIL PROTECTED] in
the To: entry and nothing in the Cc... so it seems to work fine on my
end.

Does evolution recognize the mailing-list magic on this list? (ie, if
you right-click on it in the message list, is there an option for
"create filter on mailing list")

2001-12-01 Thread wolfi

Hi Jeff,

It's exactly the other way round with the message you sent me right now!
I am in 'to' and the list is in 'cc', and reply to list sends the
message to me!
I am now writing back to you in the same way: you are in the 'to'
section personally, and the list is in 'cc'.
Check out what happens if you do 'reply to list' with this message

This is the result of doing a Reply-To-List for me... again it works as
expected...
