Has anyone found a work-around for this problem?  I'm unable to add
anything to my calendar and have had to go back to Gnome calendar.

Nevermind.  I've resolved this issue.  I've been trying to get address
completion to with with an LDAP server by adding
  ...  to
config.xmldb.

Removing this section has restored my calendar.

Could you get a stack trace from your core file?
e.g. run 'gdb wombat core' then type 'bt'.

I've had a similar report about problems with recurring events, which
seems to be a memory corruption problem (crashing in a free() call). It
would be useful to see if your problem is the same thing.
