[Evolution] Over sized screen

2007-12-11 Thread Alejandro Vidal

Hi,
I began using evolution because I need to sync it with my palm.
It's great but there's a problem with the screen size. Its' very
uncomfortable to have part of the screen in other desktop. That doesn't
happens to me in any other program.

Any clue?
I'm using Gutsy in a 1027x768 LG Flatron L1550S.

Thanks!

[Evolution] Error in windows

2007-12-11 Thread Christopher M Bailey
Hi All,

I'm in the process of building a Windows notebook with Evo 2.8 installed
for email, however, every time I close evo I get the following error

The instruction at 0x0086b008 referenced memory at 0x0067. The
memory could not be read.

The notebook is a Dell Latitude C610 (P3-M 1.0GHz, 1 GB RAM, Win XP Pro
SP2)

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Chris

 Sirs

A few days ago I started Evolution, read a mail, and printed it

Later in the same day I restarted Evolution and tried to print
another mail. Printing to a file was and is still possible.
However printing to my printer seemed to be disabled : the print
 icon was light gray.

Has anybody an idea how to restore the printing capability in
 full ?
You haven't told us what you've done to diagnose the printing issue. I
suspect your problem is with your system, not Evolution.

I use a recent Ubuntu with Evolution 2.12.0 (as far as I can see).
If you use Feisty, you might want to consider upgrading to Gutsy, which
includes Evolution 2.12.1, and seems to have resolved some printing
issues. Works a treat with my HP 1300!

Thank You very much for your attention

 This will be very helpful.
A couple of messages isn't going to do it. You need at least 100 or so
on average.

Evo has no configuration options to tune the junk filters. You need to
read the docs for Spamassassin or Bogofilter, according to which one you
use.

Alternatively, you could set up an input filter for the domains/users
you want to whitelist, and refile the messages so they won't be seen by
the junk filter. Probably not very practical for most people.

Evolution doesn't do any spam filtering on its own -- it just
runs spamassasin or bogofilter (depending on which plugin is
active) and then parses the results. Which means that if you have
problems with your spam filtering, the easiest way how to fix it
is to contact email list of the particular anti-spam program.

Take a look at your settings (Edit/Settings/Mail settings/Junk
mail/Default junk plugin) which plugin is being used and then go
there.

The website for bogofilter is http://www.bogofilter.org, the one
for SpamAssasin is http://spamassassin.apache.org/.

Matěj

Followup

Gave up after trying several things. Moved to Ubuntu 7.10 and
everything smoothed out.

Whatever crashes, crashes hard. Sometimes locks up the entire Gnome
desktop. Closing evo with --force-shutdown does not fix the problem
(that is, when you open it again, it locks on the first attempt to
reply.) Restarting Xsometimes fixes it, but the only certain fix is a
reboot. And that only lasts for a couple of replies.

I have reinstalled evo and even done a complete system reinstall from
scratch and have not been able to fix.

evolution --debug evo-crash.txt is attached -- there is almost nothing
in it. There is nothing more on the command line.

 Any help would be appreciated.
