I'm not familiar with Suse, but I'm extremely sceptical of your assertion that .gconf/apps/evolution contains your mailboxes etc. On other systems (Fedora and Ubuntu at least) that directory contains a bunch of XML files and other generic configuration data, but the mailboxes are under .evolution. I would be very surprised if the Suse version was different. poc PS You replied to me directly instead of the Evo list. I don't know if that was your intention. Sorry for the direct email, it supposed to be addressed to the list. Before Suse I was using PCLOS and the location was .evolution in the home folder. So When I installed Suse and Evolution, there it was everything and still couldn't see any mailbox or email. So I made a copy to the .gconf/apps/evolution folder too. Still no emails. Then I deleted all of the folders and followed the instruction by the letter at the link you've posted. Still no emails or folders. But reading the article I've had the impression that the working location of Evolution under Suse is .gconf/apps/evolution. What else should I try? [Evolution] Error while fetching mail ???
Hi; Every time I send or receive mail I get a warning message at the bottom of my Evo window telling me "Error while fetching mail". In fact, there never seems to really be an error or problem fetching mail. The warning goes away after a minute of two. I have checked my standard logs and can't seem to see anything untoward. Any suggestions ?? -- Regards Bill; Fedora 9, Gnome 2.22.3 Evo.2.22.3.1, Emacs 22.2.1 ___ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
[Evolution] Evolution 2.22 and Date Format
Hi! This has been asked before but no clear answer how to get this working can be found so one more try.. :-) I'd like Evolution to show all dates in the ISO 8601 format, currently Evolution shows confusing amount of different format, e.g., 5:23 AM, Today 8:23 AM, Yesterday 11:23 AM, Thu 26, 4:23 AM, Jun 26, 4:30 AM, ... So I'd like to see only one format to be used to avoid confusion and ISO 8601 would look nice, e.g., 2008-07-10 23:32. I've tried using different locales, mainly the well-known en_DK which defines ISO 8601 format for its LC_TIME, but it does not work, i.e., LC_TIME=en_DK evolution still comes up without ISO dates while for example LC_TIME=en_DK thunderbird works as expected. Using LC_ALL, LANG, or other variants does not help nor does en_DK.UTF8 or locales. So, how could I change the way Evolution represents dates? I'm using Evolution-2.22 on Fedora 9. Using SVN trunk on openSUSE-11.0 - all my reminders pop up as windows, by default. I'm not aware of reminders in the notification area. But the absolute worst problem is that my email addresses no longer get auto-completed. mhr Good grief Charlie Brown! That is not a new Evolution, just newer than what you had. Iam running 2.22.0 and there are some, I think, who are running 2.25.x. The problems that you are experiencing may be fixed by now. But the problem of no "auto-completion" may be that with the fresh install you need to cruise through your preferences and select the check box for auto complete. Also, make sure that your /etc/hosts file has entries like: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ cat /etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 andrew.foo.home andrew localhost 192.168.0.22RicohAficio.foo.home RicohAficio # generated by drakhosts 192.168.0.70Chris.foo.home Chris 192.168.0.32Lexmark.foo.home Lexmark to make sure you have no hold ups in your internal networking.
