Hi Reid,
most probably because it's trying to update your maildir account
summary. How many mails do you have there? How big is your folders.db
file for this account? Maybe try to vacuum it as is written here?
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2009-February/msg00049.html

Just guessing. If nothing helps, please do a bug report for this.
Thanks and bye,
Milan

db vacuum had no effect -- removing the above maildir folders.db and
forcing it to rebuild seems to have fixed things though( evo is
currently re-syncing). Thanks Milan.

Failing over to mutt/tbird/sup for a day or so isn't too bad, but after
a few days I really start to miss evo.

Re: [Evolution] Testing evolution-mapi

2009-04-17 Thread mark . intyre

Hello,

If that means your Exchange setup uses a clustered environment,
then the chances of the MAPI plugin working is probably zero.

Could you elaborate a bit more on that?

The Exchange server can be setup to work in a clustered environment.
It simply means that your mailbox might reside in any of the nodes in
the cluster, without being confined to a single super-server. LibMAPI
does not _yet_ support talking to Exchange servers in such a setup.
Hence, evolution-mapi would be unable to open your mailbox, populate
your folders and so on. Attempting to do so will result in
  MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR as mentioned earlier.

thanks a lot for the info, what I am experiencing makes
 sense now.

I was now able to figure out an individual server and connect directly to it.
Few things I noted:

- when creating the account, authentication to the server seems to always to
fail on first attempt with MAPI_E_NO_ACCESS but then succeeds on second
attempt. This is logged:

e-data-server-ui-Message: Key file does not have group 'Passwords-ExchangeMAPI'
Create profile with user EXAMPLE server.example.com
libexchangemapi-Message: exchange-mapi-connection.c:2874:

Could this be related to this clustered environment?

- when opening one of my folders, Deleted Items, evolution seg faults every
time with:

(evolution:3496): camel-WARNING **: Error in select statement 'SELECT uid,
flags, size, dsent, dreceived, subject, mail_from, mail_to, mail_cc, mlist,
part, labels, usertags, cinfo, bdata FROM 'Mailbox - Test User/Corp/Deleted
Items' WHERE uid = '31280058C3B7169A3001'' [no such table: Mailbox

User/Corp/Deleted Items')
**
camel:ERROR:camel-internet-address.c:535:camel_internet_address_format_address:

Thunderbird and OWA show this folder and its contents correctly. Does this
error message provide any hints what's causing this?

Thanks..

[Evolution] Two major bugs with evolution-mapi, workarounds anyone?

2009-04-17 Thread Thomas Novin
Hello

I have experienced two major bugs with evolution-mapi in Ubuntu Jaunty.

The Calendar doesn't work at all
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=577333

Can't see any Contacts
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=577335

Can anyone think of a workaround or something?

Does this work for everyone else?

Rgds

Consider yourself lucky: I can't even connect. I removed all my old Evo
files, upgraded one of my systems to the latest Jaunty files, and
started evo.

It asked me to create a new account so I chose Exchange MAPI. I entered
my exchange server, username, and domain, then which I clicked the
Authenticate button evolution dumps core.

I'm so insanely busy that I haven't had time to try building my own with
extra debugging or whatever, so that's about all I can say for now.

Output from evolution below:

[Evolution] mail-notification applet locks up evolution

2009-04-17 Thread Jonathan Ryshpan
I have been running the mail-notification-applet under fedora10/gnome
(mail-notification-5.4-4.fc10.x86_64 to be exact)
and have been very satisfied with it except for one thing. It makes
evolution lock up.

If mail-notification is running, after a time varying from minutes to
hours, evolution will stop updating or restoring the screen, and will
not respond to input. The only way to get it running again is to kill
and restart it.

Has anyone seen this? Any possible fixes?

Thanks - jon

Yes you can. You need to read the page and understand it, specifically
towards the end where it says To unsubscribe from Evolution-list

If you have some specific difficulty I'm sure people will be glad to
help, but no-one else can do this for you.
