Re: [Evolution] Evolution 3.2.1 questions
1. Is the link to Google Calendar bi-directional? If I add or change an event in Evolution, will it be reflected on the Google server? Yes. 2. When will the link to Google contacts include syncing groups, in addition to the main address book? Is there an add-on that will accomplish this? syncing? - as far as I know it doesn't sync contacts locally, it uses them direct from Google. But yes, groups are catered for - they are represented within Evo as categories - you may have to add the category within Evo for it to be able to be used, but the functionality is there. What I don't understand is that I ran out of disk space, evolution was not running but is corrupt/missing, why would the files be lost/over-written and why I now have 50Gib free and the only thing apparently missing is evolution. I would have expected the computer to stop but not overwrite data?? Hi, the information about configured accounts is stored in GConf, and if it failed to store its cached values due to disk full error then it results in this New Account Wizard issue. The problem is that adding new accounts will not help, because they will get assigned new IDs, but you can use your outdated backup and restore from it only account definitions. If you didn't add any new account, or removed or anything like that, then you'll be able to restore it also with your mails. Make sure you've not running any evolution related processes, like e-calendar-factory, e-addressbook-factory or evolution-alarm-notify. Then extract the backup file to a /tmp or anywhere else, to a new directory, find there the backup-restore-gconf.xml file. Replace in it each #EVO_USERDATADIR# with /home/login/.local/share/evolution and run this command: $ gconftool-2 --load backup-restore-gconf.xml which should restore your accounts. Re: [Evolution] Configuring Evolution
I asked: There are a number of parameters which I'd love to tweak for Evolution but I don't see any way to change them through the UI. For example, I'd like to be able to change the length of lines used when wrapping text. Does Evolution have any hidden configuration interface comparable to Firefox's about:config. Are these parameters stored in Gconf and, if so, are they documented somewhere? Pete and Andre answered, pointing to the FAQ and some online help. Thanks. That takes care of the line wrap question. But I'd still like to know if there is a complete list of all configuration parameters somewhere. And at least one of them mentioned in the FAQ doesn't seem to work for me. I have, $ gconftool-2 -g /desktop/gnome/interface/toolbar_style text But I still get icons on the toolbar. Of course, I'm running KDE on Fedora 16 so maybe there is some reason Evolution ignores the setting in this situation? -- Dave Close ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

It happens to me too and is very annoying. A bug perhaps?
