I can't get the Id because is a generic mailbox that we only can
 access with shared folders.

Hi,
just in case, if you mean Public Folders, with that shared folders,
aka the folders are not accessed through a concrete personal account,
then it's yet another feature [3], part of 3.7.5+.
Bye,

[Evolution] Erronously disabled account

2013-01-30 Thread Paolo Benvenuto
In evolution mail, I right-clicked on the account name of the account in
which I have all my mail, organized in many subfolders, and I got a
3-commands menu showing:
- New folder
- Disable account
- Properties

I clicked the Disable account command, and magically the account with
all its folders structure disappeared.

Since the menu item says disable account, I suppose there is - somewhere
- a command to re-enable the account I disabled, but I can't find it,

Anyone could help me to restore all my account with all its folders?

Thank you!

Have you tried looking under Mail Management ▸ Account Management in
the user help? It should mention Edit ▸ Preferences ▸ Mail Accounts,
hopefully.

connected this way since it doesn't think there is a valid connection.

Is there a work around for this situation.

[When asking a question always state the version of Evo you have (see
Help-About). Evolution on a Mint laptop means nothing to most of the
readers of this list.]

This is a FAQ. Have you read

Ok, I've seen it and resolved the issue.

However, I wondered why wasn't I able to find it, and I think the answer
is that when I had configured the account on my evolution (about 7/8
years ago) I had defined a gmail account, and actually I have a gmail
account in my preferences, but it had remained active when I erronously
disabled.

The account I had to reenable is the on this computer one, and it
cannot be edited!! Apparently it receives the incoming mail from the
gmail account, which is my predefined one This is a mess I cannot
understand well... where can I find an explication of these things? or
does the mess come from some erronous position of my mail folders?

This is correct - it cannot be edited because there is nothing to
configure.

Then you are using POP. POP downloads mail from an account to the
'local computer'. That is what POP does. If you want real separate
accounts use IMAP.

Re: [Evolution] Erronously disabled account

2013-01-30 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
I suspect you might have to login to the webmail version of Gmail and check the
settings in there to see if it's forwarding or receiving emails form the other
account.  Then login to the other account and see if that is set-up to forwards
or pull email from your Gmail account.

A couple of weeks ago i managed to set both my accounts to pull mail from the
other and to push mail to the other.  Luckily i realised after i woke up and
managed to stop them both but i still haven't cleared up the mess it left!
Regards from
Tom :)

Re: [Evolution] Contact list anomaly

2013-01-30 Thread Carpetnailz
I was able to find the contact by the email address search. When I
opened it to edit, the full name was there as well, so I don't know why
it didn't show up, even when I scrolled through the entire contact list.
I saved the edit contact dialog and now it's working right.

Whatever.
