[Evolution] Clickable links
I didn't get any response to this so I'll ask again: When I put a URL in an email, whether I paste it in or insert it with 'Insert Link', it arrives non-clickable at its destination. Nor, on checking, is it clickable on my PC beforehand; although 'Test Link' on the Insert box opens the site. Yet if the recipient then replies, leaving the original message content in the reply, the link is clickable when it reaches me. I am also told that the links are clickable when received on smart phones, just not on PCs or laptops. Does anyone have any idea why or how evolution is doing this? I'm using Version 2.22.3.1 running on GNewSense. (There was some reference to this happening back in 2009 but I couldn't find any resolution referred to anywhere.) Well to be fair, we have had quite a few problems with the Maildir conversion not getting triggered after upgrading from 2.x. I thought we had it figured out, but I just went another round with it. https://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?h=gnome-3-8&id=f40548697497cb748243e33e21d103ded2db9c19 (I alerted Debian folks to get that commit backported for Wheezy, as their users will be coming from Evolution 2.30.) Anyway, if the OP hasn't mucked around too much with the files, one thing he can try is close Evolution and run: gconftool-2 --set --type string /apps/gnome/evolution/version 2.32.0 That will make Evolution believe it's upgrading from 2.32.0 on the next start, and at least for Evolution 3.4.4 that should trigger the Maildir conversion. I can't guarantee it will work on Evolution 3.2.x. MBOX gets slow with very large mailboxes; it is a *flaw* in the design of MBOX. MBOX is fundamentally at odds with large mailboxes. I'd say it is just time to move on. There are lots of tools for using maildir just as easily as using MBOX. ... and why are you grousing about underneath Evolution anyway? [Evolution] evolution export/save to mbox in error
Hello to all of you, ( second request because the first was probably lost do due to much mails ) First I want to appologise for this mail to all, but I am desperatly seeking an answer. I want to be able to export my evolution mail which was recently upgraded to version 3.2.2 ( within ubuntu package 11.10 ) and now I cannot read the raw mail or export to mbox. Or can evolution become downgraded to the mbox-style files. Like thunderbird. However thunderbird seems slow in reading the mails. The mail now is scattered over a lot of files, and sometimes even broken into several parts. The earlier version I could get into the mailboxes and easily find all the mails in their mbox format. So I was able to read the bare mail. But now everything is put ino sqlite. I could refere to my question in the ubuntu forum. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2124880 Also I found lot of other people haveing the same problem, not beeing able to revert to mbox. Even in the evolution bug-list, but no solution. I could upgrade to a newer version perhaps, But with no guarenty to be able to export to mbox it makes no sense. Or, would it be possible to downgrade to a version supporting just the mbox-style? If I understood how the mail is split over the m(ail)boxes, i could probably solve it myself but found no help to how the mail is stored in the sqlite-db. Could someone tell me if it ever will be solved, it is a problem for almost a year now.. Or, is there a piece of doc that could tell me about the way the mail is stored in sqlite.
