Re: [Evolution] How to stop evolution messing with the text of messages

2015-09-11 Thread Pete Biggs

You will need to give the version of Evolution that you are using
because that determines what composer is being used.

That is not normal behaviour - it certainly doesn't happen on my
version (3.16.5). Are you using an external editor?

The text look likes it comes from the MailScanner package (well,
obviously). That is normally setup to scan incoming messages on a mail
server and isn't something that I've ever seen installed on a desktop.
If you don't need it (i.e. if you aren't receiving mail by SMTP on your
machine), then I suggest you uninstall it.

[Evolution] Frustrated!

2015-09-11 Thread Jeffrey Needle
Hi. I have tried Evolution, several versions. I know the older
versions won't sync my google contacts. Google has changed something,
and it's all gone to pot.

I had an idea -- export my contacts and import them into Evolution. But
no matter which version of Evolution I try, the import just fails. I
have a vcard file with about 1600 contacts. I start the import, and it
just stops and dies.

Can someone advise me as to how I can get the contacts into Evolution?
I've tried both vcard and csv, but both fail.

Thanks.

Have you changed to using Gnome On-line Accounts (GoA)? I see you've
asked about google contacts here before and I (and others I think) told
you that you have to use GoA now to get contacts to sync - did you do
that?

Any error messages? If you start Evolution from the command line, does
it give any more information about the import? Does it always stop at
the same point?

[Evolution] Missing Calendar Items

2015-09-11 Thread Emilio Recio
So when I login to the web client (OWA) on microsoft's site, I see many
meetings in my calendar. However, after installing Evolution 3.16.5 on
my laptop, these meetings are not being shown. Some show up, but others
(mostly all) do not. Meanwhile on my evolution (3.16.3) at work, there
are only one or two meetings missing, but most show up. In outlook 2011
(mac), and outlook 2010 (win7) all of my meetings show up fine.

I am wondering if there's a problem with "special" characters in the
description that's failing the download? For example, ellipses or curly
quotes in various parts of the calendar entry. It tends to happen with
recurring entries, but I am not sure.

Is there a way I can debug calendar synch to see why it's failing on
downloading the calendar entries?

I am using the ews component, and our mailboxes are hosted by
microsoft's o365 in the cloud.
