Hi,
I'd appreciate if you could give Tomas Popela some exact steps for the
reproducer, thus he'd be able to try it locally. Any detail matters,
thus exact key-press/mouse-press/mouse-move since the Ctrl+N press to
create a new mail message from the Mail view is important, because, as
I said, I wasn't able to reproduce the crash myself here by just
inserting a random emoticon from the toolbar popup menu.
Thanks and bye,
Milan

So it's not looking like a hardware problem.
I can live with this for the moment as I usually don't use emoticons in

[Evolution] Sender name shown from contacts

2016-03-30 Thread Prometheus
Hi, i have an imap connection for retrieving e-mails and a carddav
connection for my contacts. Whenever i receive an e-mail i never see
the known e-mail address with the known name from the contacts.

Example Mike Someone sends an e-mail to me, i have him in my contacts
but i see in the sender only his e-mail: ms...@gnome.org

Any idea what i can do about it?

Hi,
the FAF link redirects to
https://retrace.fedoraproject.org/faf/reports/1070785/
which also shows the crashing thread backtrace. It crashes when the
inline images (the emoticon) are being restored into the mail structure
(guessed based on the function name). I do not see this crash, but it
can be that I'm just lucky.

That sounds like a hardware fault in your machine. Since it's
repeatable, it's probably not bad RAM (though you should probably run
memchk on boot to be sure). You definitely want to track this down as
it may be affecting other things, including data.

gnome-abrt mat give you more information. Failing that, try:

$ abrt-cli ls --detailed f89eeb6355aea4ef0c001c8cbdb3fb713eba1786

which will give you a whole bunch of stuff, most of which isn't
relevant, but which includes a backtrace.

That's weird: I've used bogofilter for many many years and never had an

If you have the debuginfo packages installed, you can get a stack trace
with gdb and see where the segfault happened.

However if the fault was reported automatically, you can use one of the
abrt tools (man -k abrt) to see what it said, e.g. "abrt-cli ls".
