This file handles the actions related to the Menu items.
Very helpful.
What is needed too is the file which displays the Menu Items on the
Tool Bar...

Regarding a short web research there was a xml file to do this, but I

Strange, Evolutions "Redirect" works different for my version of
Evolution, since it adds myself to the recipients.

Anyway, if you want let friends know, that you read their mails, but you
don't have interest to reply, then the friends should use "Request Read
Receipt" (Request Return Receipt or what ever it's named by their
mailers). So you culd confirm that you read the mail, but you don't need
to reply.

Indeed, if somebody, even a friend should send something that isn't
worth a reply, then most people simply don't reply ;). Nobody adds a
friend to spam filters or blacklists and we not necessarily reply with
a comment. However, if for some reason it should be common practise to
send back the original mail to e.g. friends, then it can't be done by
automation, since we first need to check if we want to reply or not and
additionally it doesn't matter if we send back the original message
without additional text or a quoted message without additional text. So
the option you want is a button, that has no special formatting style,
but replies to the sender and this can be done by the reply button ;).
Ok, ok, you want to send back the mail without any quoting, but this is
really an option not many users want to have too.

Claws Mail provides "Actions" a user could define. Since Claws Mail is
not that feature rich, IOW more light weight than Evolution, the action
feature makes sense and that Evolution doesn't provide such a feature
(perhaps it does and I'm not aware of it) makes sense, too.

2 Cents,
Ralf

Hi,

that still doesn't explain how it works to get rid of unwanted messages

Bouncing a mail, just did send the message back without any additional
text.
I used it the time for getting rid of disliked messages and I didn't
have the envy to respond.

Sorry for being ignorant, but I still not totally understand your
question. If you want them to know, that the messages are not welcome,
why is replying to the message with a text, that the messages are not
welcome, not good enough? What do you mean by bouncing exactly?

In another reply you mention, that this feature was provided by email
clients back in the day. Do you remember, what they exactly did with
the message, and what is different to replying to it?

[Evolution] Broken formatting of citation with WebKit composer (was: Bouncing emails)

2016-08-07 Thread Paul Menzel
Dear Evolution folks,

this message is a good example of a problem, I am having myself.

Am Donnerstag, den 04.08.2016, 23:35 +0200 schrieb Rudolf Künzli:

Citations are by default not marked as preformatted, causing them to be
formatted really badly with no manual interaction, as you can see with
the line having *better* in it.

Additionally, trying to fix up the citation, or for example, replying
in interleaved style, and hitting return in a text, the quotation level
is increased. Trying to delete the > sign, causes the text to be
deleted and not the > sign.

To my knowledge this problem is present since switching to the WebKit
composer. I am using Evolution 3.20.4 and WebKitGTK+ 2.4.11.

Are the developers already aware of the problem? Are there already bugs
reports submitted or do I have to do it?

Thanks,

Paul
