Re: [Evolution] After an update this evening Evolution crash at opening...
Hi Milan, Somes news about the problem, that in fact is not a real problem ... I have send message on the OpenSuse forum and one of the "guru" tell me that I have mixed repositories and I have to change repositories from Gnome to OSS-Tumbleweed for Evolution and dependencies I've done that and... Fixed... So ... I'm a little confused about my foolishness... But I thank you again Have nice day Philippe -- --- Dr Philippe Pès - SAMU 44 - CHU de NANTES E-Mail : p...@club-internet.fr Collaborateur SAMU de FRANCE : http://www.samu-de-france.fr/ Collaborateur SFMU : http://www.sfmu.org (La médecine d'urgence) Webmaster du CMUPL : http://www.cmupl.org L'échographie pour l'urgentiste : http://www.winfocus-france.org Corsicaria 2003 : http://www.corsicaria.org (Meeting aérien à Ajaccio) Afin de contribuer au respect de l'environnement, merci de n'imprimer ce mail qu'en cas de nécessité Le mardi 29 juin 2021 à 09:52 +0200, Milan Crha via evolution-list a écrit : > On Mon, 2021-06-28 at 22:03 +0200, p...@club-internet.fr wrote: > > ppes@FIXE-MAISON:~> evolution > > evolution: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libebook-contacts-1.2.so.3: > > undefined symbol: > > _ZN4i18n12phonenumbers11PhoneNumberC1EPN6google8protobuf5ArenaEb > > ppes@FIXE-MAISON:~> > > Hi, > the above means that you updated either libphonenumber or evolution- > data-server, but not both, thus they mismatch and the evolution-data- > server's libebook-contacts fails to load due to a missing symbol > provided by libphonenumber. So I have checked the version of both evolution data server and others library and seems to be at top of upgrade level (seems ... I'm not specialist) And, yes, I'm using a precompiled version provided by the distribution (that is OpenSuse Tumbleweed) , so I have understood that I have to inform the mainteners about this issue... Will do this afternoon and come back to say what... About downgrading, I'm not confortable with this manipulation... I have understood that is not dangerous for my data but I have to check before conscientiously how to do that. Thank you again for the time you spend to help me Regards Philippe --- Dr Philippe Pès - SAMU 44 - CHU de NANTES E-Mail : p...@club-internet.fr Collaborateur SAMU-URGENCES de FRANCE : http://www.samu-de-france.fr Collaborateur SFMU : http://www.sfmu.org (La médecine d'urgence) Webmaster CMUPL : http://www.cmupl.org Webmaster WINFOCUS-France : http://www.winfocus-france.org Corsicaria 2003 : http://www.corsicaria.org (Meeting aérien à Ajaccio) Afin de contribuer au respect de l'environnement, merci de n'imprimer ce mail qu'en cas de nécessité ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

You need to rebuild evolution-data-server against the libphonenumber version you have installed. If you use precompiled version provided by the distribution maintainers, then let them know the provided version is broken (unless the other updated package is waiting in the update queue or something like that). A quick workaround is to downgrade the one which had been updated. This does not affect your data, it's safe.
