In this file there is only a word (DEFAULT) not comment out, and some
comment

#...
# * DEFAULT: A reasonable default for today's standards (80-bit
security).
#
# * NEXT: Policy which will become DEFAULT in some upcoming release of
the
# operating system (112-bit security plus restriction of TLS to
version 1.2
# and newer).
#...

Now the value is set to DEFAULT like other Fedora version.

Someone have some suggest how to change this file ?

Many thanks

[Evolution] evolution 3.36 disabled TLS1.0 and TLS 1.1 and workaround

2020-04-07 Thread Dario Lesca
I have try on Fedora 32 beta to use evo 3.36.x and I have get this
error connect to an old POP3 server:

"Error performing TLS handshake: A packet with illegal or unsupported
version was received."

This is caused by the recent disable TLS1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocol

My question is:

There is only this work around:

$ G_TLS_GNUTLS_PRIORITY="NORMAL:%COMPAT:+VERS-TLS1.0" evolution

found it in this tread:
https://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-dist@lists.debian.org/msg1735889.html

Or there is some options into property panel to re-enable old protocol
for some old server?

Many thanks

[Evolution] Notify plugin: Ability to change the monitoring INBOX folder to another (Virtual) folder

2019-07-19 Thread Dario Lesca
Fedora WS 30 + evolution-3.32.4-1.fc30.x86_64

When a message come to evo, an specific plugin notify the arrival of
the new message.

In this plugin it's possible enable or disable the account for which
you need to notify.

It's also possible to enable or disable the ability to notificate the
arrival in all folders, not only in INBOX folder.

In my case I do not want to be notify for all folder (there is many ML
from this folder), then I have not enable "notify for all folders"

Instead, i have create a Virtual Folder "News Message" and bind to it
some other important for me folders, then I have enable "show unread
message", in this way in this Virtual Folder I see only the new message
arrived into important folders.

It would be useful to be able to change in notify plugin the INBOX
folder with another folder, in my case this my special Virtual Folder.

In this way I would be notified when a new message arrives in one of
the mapped folder whit this Virtual Folder.

Is this a new feature or in some way it's possible to change the INBOX
folder monitored from Notify plugin with another?

Many thanks

Yes, some time I use this keyboard shortcut, but the main question is:

It's possible to personalize (add or remove some function button) the

[Evolution] Evolution 3.22.1: Close a message for writing + Save it do not close the email

2016-11-24 Thread Dario Lesca
Fedora 25 + Evo 3.22.1

Open new email, write some things then close it.

Appears the usual message "discard", "save", or "continues to write"

If I click on "Save" the message is write in Draft but the message window it is
not closed. Into previous version, if I close the message then press "Save",
the message is closed.

If I try again to close it, reappears the warning box, I press again "Save" but
the message still open ... and so on...

If I press "Discard" the box is close but the message remains in Drafts. Into
previous version Discard remove the message from the Draft

Is this a bug or a new functionality?

Thanks

A useful "to do" would be to allow the user to specify which folders
you want to be notified, but I 'm not a programmer and I can not help
you develop it.

For now your solution it's good enough.

I have try to use an external editor, but it is not the same thing as
the build-in (bugged) editor. IMHO, The usability It is worse than the
bad undo/redo of build-in editor.

I'm sorry, I'm not a development, unfortunately, and my GNU/Linux
contribution is on other way.

The reason are many, I have set external editor to "gedit", and the
html format of message is lost. ... I have try set it to "libreoffice"
and the html format and text indented is lost ... If i open a new
message, type some text, then open the external editor and close it
without modify or save it, the format of text into internal editor of
mail message is change, all line is join into one line ... And many
other.

Ok, this explain why the bug it's still alive...

A (stupid?) question:

But why it's not possible remove webkit editor and restore the old
build-in editor?

Thanks

Yes, i agree, this is a good thing.

Then the folder to restore from backup are this two:

~/.local/share/evolution
~/.config/evolution

Good! this is a useful info, thanks!
From now, before a backup I dump the evo's dconf setting into a text
file for restore it

Question: It's possible extract with dconf (or gsettings) the
evolution's data directly from the backup folders, for example from
/mnt/bk/home/user/.config/dconf/ if I do not have dump it before? How
to?

Ok, I agree, I newer restore ~/.cache/mozilla/ but only
 ~/.mozilla/firefox/

Many thanks

Ok, then?

If I want restore for example only Evo, TB, FF, .ssh from my home's
backup of my old PC (old.dom.tld) dead, on my new PC, fresh installed
with some Linux and Evo, TB, FF version, called "new.dom.tld"?

For TB, FF and .ssh is simple: I copy from home's backup the folders
~/.thunderbird, ~/.mozilla, and ~/.ssh to new PC and all work fine.

For Evo, what folder I must copy?

>From this info:
https://help.gnome.org/users/evolution/stable/data-storage.html.en
I understand want to copy this folder:

~/.local/share/evolution
~/.config/evolution
~/.cache/evolution
~/.config/dconf (*)
But into ~/.config/dconf are stored all DCONF setting of all other application,
an in this case I want to copy only Evo settings, not the rest.
Also, if I copy (rsync) the tree or more Evo's folders from backup of old PC to
new PC, I understand there is some selinux issue to resolve...

Some can suggest how to do a full restore of Evo settings and data from a
backup to a new PC?

Many thanks.

I use Evo for my primary email account POP3, and TB for extra various
IMAP/POP3 accounts, point to email servers of my clients for test only.

Also, my various clients use thunderbird, and so, I can suggest them
how to setting some functionality or account.

Also, Evo support more than one spell checker simultaneous (IT and EN
and Foo and ...) and TB no, it use only one spell checker at time.

settings of Evo, FF, TB, and some other few application to my new PC.

I do not want transfer old and obsolete settings and data, I want to
start with a clean new home...

You must create a new temp address book.

Right click on it, select property and set preferred address book.

Now you can remove other address book

Confirm: Gnome 3 + evo 3.16.3: change the font size via gnome-tweak

But I want to remember that this problem it's never happened with
previous version of evo + gnome 3 + Fedora, then it is considered an

I must fill a bugs?

Press CTRL + Z broke text, do not undo.

In this version, the editor undo is unusable.

The advantage of this feature is that you learn to write without
mistakes ;-)

Press CTRL + Z broke text, do not undo.

For example:

1) Open a new text mail
2) write into body abc, then press enter and write def
3) Now press CTR+Z for remove f of def ...
4) ... and magically the c of abc disappear
