The problem is that sometimes filters are not applied, so I'm used to
run CTRL+A - CTRL + Y on my Inbox, so I need to explicitly exclude Inbox
from the filter.

Thanks a lot

Unfortunately I can't find this condition in EVO 3.12.9. Maybe it was
added later?

The filter is present, but I don't want to apply it to my inbox, I've to
run it just to some subfolder. Defining this kind of filter will trigger
deletion also in inbox when hitting CTRL + Y. Do you think it's possible
to whitelist/blacklist some folder for filter execution?

That's not a problem, CTRL + Y is a quick way to do it.

Yes, I was searching for that feature because I've seen it in
Thunderbird. I can confirm that's not present in 3.12.9.

Unlikely I can't upgrade it, since it will require to also upgrade Gnome
and Debian.

I think there's no easy solution to this problem, since EVO is tightly
coupled with Gnome. Luckily 3.12.9 is a good piece of software, and it
works fine in my office box.

I have the same problem since v. 3.12.9 is the one shipped with Debian
Jessie (oldstable), and upgrading it require to upgrade the entire Gnome
DE.

Any suggestion for upgrading is welcome!

Thanks a lot for your reply. I tried adding the "Categories" column,
assignig numeric value from 10 to 99, and sorting by it. It seems
working, it could be a good workaround.
Any suggestion for a better way for sorting more than 3 tasks at a
time?

[Evolution] Custom priority for tasks

2018-04-11 Thread Gabriele Brosulo
Hi all,
Is it possible in Evolution 3.12.9 (Debian Jessie) to have custom
priority for tasks? Actually there is High, Normal, Low and not defined.
I would like to have more priority options, maybe numeric, since I use
it to sort tasks.

Thanks a lot

[Evolution] Can not encrypt with PGP

2018-01-31 Thread Gabriele Brosulo
Hi all,
With Evolution 3.12.9 on Debian 8 (Jessie) I have a problem encrypting
mails with PGP, it says (traslated from italian):

##
Impossible to create the message.

Because "gpg: 123456FAF: salted: Public key not usable
gpg: [stdin]: encryption failed: Public key not usable
", you may need to select different mail options.
##

Signing email works fine (this one is signed).

Any hints?
Thanks a lot

Nope, 3.12 does not have a "Preferences" link right clicking the folder
name. It just have a "Properties" link (maybe it's just an Italian
translation issue?), but there's no AutoArchive tab.

Do you think it's possible to have Evolution upgraded on an oldstable
Debian box?

[Evolution] Automatic folder cleaning

2017-12-27 Thread Gabriele Brosulo
Hi all,
I'm flooded by a lot of messages coming from servers I administer, and
actually I move them into folders using filters.
I'm wondering if there is a way to tell Evo (3.12.9) to clean folders
automatically, in order delete messages older than 1 month.

Thanks a lot

You're right again, I found the manual import in an Ubuntu forum.
Unfortunately I had to import by hand all folders, one by one.

[Evolution] HTML editor

2017-12-21 Thread Gabriele Brosulo
Hi all,
I'm writing from an updated oldstable debian box (Jessie - 8.10) with
Gnome 3.14.1 and Evolution 3.12.9. I'm wondering if it's possible to
improve in some way the Evolution HTML editor, since it's really basic.
What I really need are ordered/unorderd lists.

I tried the "External editor" plugin, but it works only on text mail.
