Re: [Evolution] connecting to a Microsoft Exchange Server?

2006-06-18 Thread Ronald Cross
I found this in a bug. The only reason why I downloaded evolution on
my mac is for the exchange server capability. I am desperately
trying to move away from Microsoft closed format with Entourage. It
doesn't look like they will have the connector until sometime in
July. How could the developer miss this? They would have to know
that this is probably one of main reasons why Mac users would use
Evolution.

Re: [Evolution] connecting to a Microsoft Exchange Server?

2006-06-18 Thread Ronald Cross
Thanks Jared, forgive me if I am not versed in gnome, etc I went
to Wikipedia and for mac "os x" it states the following:

Evolution for Mac OS X

On 31 March 2006 Novell's Shreyas Srinivasan announced on the
Evolution hackers list that the company had released the Evolution
2.6 Binary release for Mac OS X.

The 2.6 release works on OS X 10.3 and 10.4, includes the Exchange
plug and is feature compatible with gnome-2.14 release.

Where is the Exchange plug that comes with the release? I am able to
find evolution exchange at http://gnome.org/projects/evolution/
download.shtml but I am not sure if this is for x windows in os x
that the statement is referring to. Is this the correct exchange
file for os x?

with warm regards,

Ronald Cross

Can anyone answer this question or do I need to post my questions
somewhere else? I have already posted on Novell Forum without
success. Where can I get the answers to my questions below?

My operating system is 10.4.6 using a powerbook 1GHZ ppc.
I have installed evolution 2.6 for os x. Is there an exchange
component for this version of evolution?
If there isn't an exchange component, how do I set it up to receive
email from an exchange server? There are many
options for server type, but the exchange server isn't one of them.
What's tips
and tricks are out there to accomplish this feat?
