[Evolution] Migrating from Evo 3.10.4 under ubuntu 14.04 LTS to Evo 3.36.5 under Ubuntu 20.04 lts

2022-07-04 Thread SanthanaKrishnan via evolution-list
Hi everyone,

I am migrating from Evolution 3.10.4 under ubuntu 14.04 LTS to
Evolution 3.36.5 under Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. I installed evolution with the
apt-get command.

I get the error "Re:{Evolution] Error while Storing folder "Inbox".
table Inbox has 30 columns but 28 values were supplied".

I saw a similar thread in October 2021, but that couldn't resolve my
problem.

I get all my new mails, but could not view them, if i search i find the
mail is available and can view the same.

[Evolution] evolution folder issue

I had mailed earlier on wednesday but got a reply that I was no longer

evolution version 3028.5-0ubuntu0.18.04.1

I was deleting lot of trash from my inbox yesterday. When I opened
evolution today all the deleted messages are seen in Inbox. But the
messages do not open and an error message says "Unable to retrieve
message. Cannot get message 1544424296.3290_48541.SanthanDell from
folder /home/santhan/.local/share/evolution/mail/local:No such file or
directory"

when I go to the Trash directory all the expunged mails are shown but
when clicked again the same message above appeares. When i try to
expunge them from the trash a error message "Failed to expunge folder
"On This Computer:Trash". The reported error was "Error storing
"~/.local/share/evolution/mail/local/Sent (maildir)":cannot VACUUM from
within a transaction" is seen

Please help.

[Evolution] Evolution update and minor issues

2015-02-11 Thread SanthanaKrishnan
Dear All,

Thanks to support from the group we are slowly changing to ubuntu 14.04
LTS and evolution 3.10.4. Kindly advice on the following issues.

1.When the last mail on the inbox list is highlighted and when I move it
into a folder, normally the highlight shifts to the previous mail. Now
there is no highlight. I have to move the cursor and click on the header
of the last mail to bring it to focus.

2.My mail backup is 12 GB. Regular backups take a lot of time. How do I
split it from a particular date, retaining the folder structure.

Re: [Evolution] Evolution not starting (SanthanaKrishnan)

2015-01-13 Thread SanthanaKrishnan
Dear All,

Thanks for the detailed reply to my query. I am really surprised the way
the open source community work and the passion everyone show towards it.

Lot of members from the group had helped by giving their advice. Our
Software people insisted on installing UBUNTU LTS 12.0.4

So we initially installed it in one system with evolution 3.2.3 and
everything seems to work well. We are a bit dazzed with the new GUI but
I am sure we will get used to it.

My sincere thanks to all the support

2015-01-09 Thread SanthanaKrishnan
Dear Sir,

Thanks for the feedback. My software provider tells that I update to
Ubuntu. We need to update close to 15 systems from fedora 14.

Is ubuntu the right choice as we might need to export evolution data
which is very vital to us.

[Evolution] Evolution not starting

2015-01-07 Thread SanthanaKrishnan
Dear All,

We use evolution mail in our small office of 20 staff. In one system
evolution would not start and I re installed.

Now it says "evolution: symbol lookup error: evolution: undefined
symbol: ical_set_unknown_token_handling_setting ".

I tried removing and re-installing again to no avail. What do I do to
run evolution.

[Evolution] Extracting Winmail.Dat

2012-07-13 Thread SanthanaKrishnan
Fedora 16 and Evolution 3.2.1

For viewing winmail.dat attachments I have "Extract TNEF archive" which
extracts the archive and stores it in ./cache/evolution/tmp. Every time
I have to open the folder to view the extracted files.

Isn't there a easy way ?

Re: [Evolution] Advanced Search Issue

2012-06-11 Thread SanthanaKrishnan
Sir,

1.Do you mean that updating to evolution-3.2.3-3.fc16.i686 might solve
the label search issue ?

2.The local account type is POP.

3.The VFolder option which the link you gave, I am already using where
the option of searching all local folders, work. Again my only regret is
that when I want to search within a particular folder having a large
tree as subfolders, for mails with specific labels I am not able to do
so.

4.I will file a bug report as you have suggested.

One small thing; is this the right way to reply to a mailing list as I
get my mail as a digest ?

Your X-Mailer header says "Evolution 3.2.1 (3.2.1-1.fc16)".
The last version for Fedora 16 is evolution-3.2.3-3.fc16.i686 so the
version you seem to use is rather outdated.

Sounds like a bug. If you have good steps to reproduce (e.g. local
account type? IMAP?) feel free to file a bug report in
bugzilla.gnome.org.

Advanced Search does not offer including subfolders. This is similar to
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=223309

[Evolution] Advanced Search Issue

2012-06-08 Thread SanthanaKrishnan
Verison 3.2.1

I have given different labels for all mails and the mails are stored in
various folders and subfolders. I have created and saved a advanced
search which can find mails with a particular label. My issues are ..

1. This search works only in the current folder and when I select
current account it does not work.

2. How do I tune the search so that it searches the current folder and
all its subfolders.

[Evolution] Backing from version 2.6.0 to 2.32.0

2011-05-04 Thread SanthanaKrishnan
I am trying to upgrade nearly 20 systems in our company to fedora 14
from fedora 5.

Evolution version in Fedora 5 was 2.6.0. Evolution version in Fedora 14
is the latest 2.32.0.

I backed up using the time tested method of

$tar -cvzf
evolution-backup.tar.gz .evolution .gconf/apps/evolution
.gnome2_private/Evolution

to backup from the 2.6.0 version data and Untarred it after the fedora
14 install.

I find that evolution 2.32.0 opens the mails but not all of them.
Particularly mails in the InBOX and Sent items are missing.

Further the "File->Backup Evolution Settings" option is also showing an
error. "The folder Contents could not be displayed - Operation not
supported"

I am desperate. Kindly help me out.
