Not at all easy for oldstable(Jessie), and dependent on your
architecture too, you would be perhaps better to move to
stable(Stretch) to get 3.22.6 or testing(Buster) to get 3.26.2 - Debian
package list below. Part of Debians release page below:

Thanks a lot to everybody, I will think about a dist upgrade in the near
near future.

+1

The current openSUSE LEAP provides Evolution 3.20.6 which has the
AutoArchive feature.  LEAP is a rolling stable distribution.

Sorry, yes, properties not preferences.

It's difficult - near impossible. The backend EDS has lots of
dependencies on recent Gnome libraries so you have to build lots of
other things. It's probably easier to install a different distro!

Nope, 3.12 does not have a "Preferences" link right clicking the folder
name. It just have a "Properties" link (maybe it's just an Italian
translation issue?), but there's no AutoArchive tab.

Do you think it's possible to have Evolution upgraded on an oldstable
Debian box?

Thanks a lot

I don't think it works for 3.12, but in 3.26 if you right click on the
folder name and then preferences there's an "AutoArchive" tab and you
can configure it there to delete messages older than a configurable
age.

[Evolution] Automatic folder cleaning

2017-12-27 Thread Gabriele Brosulo
Hi all,
I'm flooded by a lot of messages coming from servers I administer, and
actually I move them into folders using filters.
I'm wondering if there is a way to tell Evo (3.12.9) to clean folders
automatically, in order delete messages older than 1 month.

Thanks a lot
