2009-08-28 Thread liuxin9...@gmail.com

hi,your answer is very good.
When using the relative reference, the first cell in the row gets the
right answer.
However, when it happens in the next cell, the formula changes because
I am using the relative reference.

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: compare two list

2009-08-28 Thread Dilip Pandey
Hi Suresh, When I looked at the scenario provided in the query... that was
highlighting the data which was not present in another column and vice
versa. Same is incorporated in the solution provided by me. Please note
that either the data is there in another column and the data is not there in
another column and only one condition can be true at a time and hence,
conditional formatting will work accordingly. Thanks

 Hi Liuxin,

This is because, when you use absolute reference ($ref$), conditional
formatting logics on the entire row is checking if that particular
 reference
is meeting the logics or not. Moreover, when you apply that logic
towards right direction to cover entire row, the logic still checks only
that particular reference, which is still meeting up with the criteria
defined and hence, entire row gets colored.

For more details, refer to the attachement which I just forwarded to
 Suresh and "Group".

Let me know in case of any queries. Thanks

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: Hi My All Friends Urgent

2009-08-28 Thread Aindril De
Hi Amresh,

This can be achieved doing the following steps:

1) Select the entire sheet.
2) Right Click on the selected area and select Format Cells.
3) In the format cells dialog box choose the Protection Tab.
4) Click on the Locked and uncheck it.
5) Click OK.
6) Now select the cell that you want to protect.
7) You Can press the Ctrl key and click on the cells if you want to protect
multiple cells.
8) Right click on any of the selected cells and choose Format cells.
9) Choose Format Cells.
10) In the Protection Tab, check the Locked.
11) At this stage the selected cells are locked.
12) Now Protect the sheet using a password (You can choose the relevant
protection options or keep the defaults as it is).
13) This will ensure that the Locked Cells cannot be modified.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need any further help.
Regards,
Andy

  Hi Liuxin,

This is because, when you use absolute reference ($ref$), conditional
formatting logics on the entire row is checking if that particular reference is
meeting the logics or not. Moreover, when you apply that logic towards right
direction to cover entire row, the logic still checks only that particular
reference, which is still meeting up with the criteria defined and hence,
entire row gets colored.

For more details, refer to the attachement which I just forwarded to Suresh
and "Group".

Let me know in case of any queries. Thanks
