$$Excel-Macros$$ How to determine if a chart is embedded or not
Hi guys, a question for you Excel VBA experts. I wrote the following function which applies formatting to a chart: Function FormatAxes(Optional SheetName As String, Optional ChartName As String, _ Optional IsEmbedded As Boolean, _ Optional Xmin, Optional Xmax, Optional Ymin, Optional Ymax, Optional XMinorUnit, _ Optional XMajorUnit, Optional YMinorUnit, Optional YMajorUnit) Dim xlChart As Chart If SheetName = vbNullString Then SheetName = ActiveSheet.Name If ChartName = vbNullString Then ChartName = ActiveChart.Name If IsEmbedded Then Set xlChart = Worksheets(SheetName).ChartObjects (ChartName).Chart Else Set xlChart = Charts(ChartName) End If End Function As you can see, i tried to wrote it in such a way that the code would work also if the sheet name and chart name are not given in input: in that case, the code usese the active sheet and active chart. Then I realized that such a code would work only on embedded charts, so I added the IsEmbedded optional parameter, which tells the code if the chart is embedded or not. However, I'd really prefer the code to determine by itself if the chart is embedded or not, rather than relying on the user to supply the correct value for the IsEmbedded optional parameter. Could you please help me do this? Thank you very much, Best Regards Sergio Rossi ps if anybody is interested in the full code of the function, and/or its goal, feel free to ask :) -- -- Some important links for excel users: 1. $$Excel-Macros$$ Macro not exporting cell data as is, its rounding up...
Hey all, I've downloaded a Macro http://meadinkent.co.uk/ and have been editing it get the exported XML to appear as required, however I can't seem to get the 2 of my fields to display correctly. There are two fields which have numbers in but are formatted as text because I do not want them rounded up. One cell has -0.08162498 in it and in the exported XML doesn't even appear. Another cell has 51.51891794 in it and in the exported XML appears as 52. My question is how can I get the information to appear as I've typed it in rather then rounding it? I have changed the 'Function FormChk(RowNum As Integer, ColNum As Integer)' to have more # in the length of the value but it doesn't work, I believe this could be because the cells are not formatted as a number. I believe, that i am not able to make the macro identify which sheet is the User on. Code: Private Sub Workbook_SheetSelectionChange(ByVal Sh As Object, ByVal Target As Range) If Activeworksheet.Selection = Sheets(Main) Then x = Target.Address Select Case x Case $E$16 y = Target.Value Worksheets(y).Select End Select End If End Sub I want the statements to proceed only if the user is on Sheet: Main, and the code should navigate the focus to the sheet, whose name is saved in Cell Thanks Harpreet Gujral -- -- Some important links for excel users: 1.
