$$Excel-Macros$$ Rank with override (urgent need)

2012-02-20 Thread dewbro2
I am working on a spreadsheet with close to 300 shipping lanes and
about 10 carriers per lane. I have succeeded in ranking each lane by
the lowest to highest freight cost; however, now I need to figure out
how to override the rank so that I can designate a preferred carrier
for a rank position (1 thru 3). If I designate a rank for a carrrier,
the other ranks need to recalculate to the next position. Can someone
tell me if this can be down and how? I need this to wrap up a bid
project, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The formula I am using to rank is: =SUMPRODUCT(--($A$2:$A$39=A2),--
(F2>$F$2:$F$39-G2))+1

Sample spreadsheet is provided below.

Thanks

A = MSL_ID*, B = CARRIER, C = TOTAL FREIGHT, D = Override of

I didn’t do columns F & G so use this
Sub ConsolidateTotalsSAS()
Dim i As Long
For i = Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Row To 2 Step -1
If Cells(i + 1, 1) = Cells(i, 1) Then
Cells(i, "e") = Val(Cells(i + 1, "e")) + Val(Cells(i, "e"))
Cells(i, "f") = Val(Cells(i + 1, "f")) + Val(Cells(i, "f"))
Cells(i, "g") = Val(Cells(i + 1, "g")) + Val(Cells(i, "g"))
Rows(i + 1).Delete
End If

RE: $$Excel-Macros$$ macro tort excel data & email to party

2012-02-20 Thread Amit Desai (MERU)
Dear All,

Please find attached sample file. In first sheet there are data that needs to
be sorted work shop wise. In the second sheet email ids are mentioned where we
need to send those sorted data per workshop.

Please let me know if we have macro for that.

Best Regards,
Amit

$$Excel-Macros$$ I need a help with connecting to SQL Server 2008

2012-02-20 Thread Markkim
Hi

it's getting frustrated.

I tried to use Excel 2007 to extract data from SQL Server 2008 R2.

But I think it fails to connect to the server.

>From Excel 2007, connection from data tab, I can access to the server
and get data. the following is the connection string I got from the
property.

Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Persist Security Info=True;User
ID=ReadingEggTeam;Data Source=reportsrv;Use Procedure for
Prepare=1;Auto Translate=True;Packet Size=4096;Workstation ID=MSERVER-
DELL;Use Encryption for Data=False;Tag with column collation when
possible=False;Initial Catalog=ReadingEggTracking

>From a book called 'Wrox Excel 2007 VBA Programmers Reference', I
tried to do the following below and I get an error at
"rsData.Open sSQL, sConnect, adOpenForwardOnly, adLockReadOnly,
adCmdText"

Dim rsData As ADODB.Recordset
Dim sConnect As String
Dim sSQL As String

' Create the connection
sConnect = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;" & _
"Data Source=ReportSrv\report; Initial Catalog= ReadingEggTracking;" &
_
"User ID=ReadingEggTeam; Password=1234;" & _
"Network Library=dbmsscon"

sSQL = "SELECT * from TrialTracking;"

' Create the Recordset object and run the query.

Set rsData = New ADODB.Recordset

rsData.Open sSQL, sConnect, adOpenForwardOnly, adLockReadOnly,
adCmdText

Then I tried to use the connection string I got it from the connection
property. It didn't work.

I think there is something wrong with connection string. Can you tell
me what it is wrong pleasE?

I can not figure it out... T T;;

cheers

RE: $$Excel-Macros$$ Hi, Friend I have a ? (I did not express properly in my previous mail - so let us have it right now)....

2012-02-20 Thread Asa Rossoff
Hello Mohammed,

Agree on the subject line bit.. please use a short decsriptive subject line
- and best not to change the subject line if you post again, it can be more
difficult for others to follow the thread.

To your question: the main part "How to merge the multiple macros in single
program?" - I understand that question. but I don't understand what your
sample data that looks like payroll records has to do with it. Or what
filtering the payroll data in various ways has to do with it.

CALL is a VBA/macro command, as xlstime says that can execute other
VBA/macro procedures. But, CALL is optional an usually not used. It is as
simple as typing the name of another sub procedure as in this example, which
doesn't use call:

Sub Macro1234 ()

'Execute Macro1 if user hits "Yes" button.

If MsgBox("Execute Macro1?",vbYesNo)=vbYes Then Macro1

'Execute Macro2 if userr hits "Yes" button.

If MsgBox("Execute Macro2?",vbYesNo)=vbYes Then Macro2

'Execute Macro3 if user hits "Yes" button.

If MsgBox("Execute Macro3?",vbYesNo)=vbYes Then Macro3

'Execute Macro4 no matter what!!!

Macro4

End Sub

Sub Macro1 ()

MsgBox "MACRO 1 !"

End Sub

Sub Macro2 ()

MsgBox "MACRO 2!"

End Sub

Sub Macro3 ()

MsgBox "MACRO 3 !"

End Sub

Sub Macro4 ()

MsgBox "MACRO 4 !"

End Sub

Hope this helps.

Asa
