Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ VBA CODE REQUIRED
First of all.. You should consider Forum Rule #1) 1) Use concise, accurate thread titles. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will not get quick attention or may not be answered. I suppose since the group title is: MS EXCEL AND VBA MACROS then some people may be asking Excel questions, but the majority of people participating in this group do so because: VBA CODE REQUIRED Now.. on to your problem. Your assumption that there should be some Excel status variable SOMEWHERE that indicates when Excel must display instead of a number is certainly logical. After all, if you change the font (size or type) and sometimes even the zoom factor of the sheet, the cell content display changes to , so there MUST be something! But, as far as I know, there is no VBA function (that I am aware of) that can determine this state. I have hundreds of lines of code that are used specifically to determine this overflow state. The truth is that whether a cell value can be displayed relies on many factors. The font size and the font and the content itself. Some fonts are proportional width fonts.. That is: some characters are thinner than others: i takes up less space than O Some fonts (Courier New) are fixed-width fonts.. That is: all characters are the same width. AND, the same characters and font are WIDER if they are BOLD. So.. what I've done in the past is to create a hidden helper column. Making it have the same content as the monitored column. Create a change event in which each time the monitored column is changed, the helper column is updated (including font selection) and an autofit is issued for the column. Then compare the column width of the two columns. If the helper column is larger than the monitored column, then the content has overflowed. This technique is not 100% accurate. Especially since changing the font or font size does not trigger the change event. It WOULD be nice if someone did know of a status code that would indicate an overflow condition. It would save me lots of cpu cycles! Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Code Problem
You really should use a better subject. just about everyone who posts here has a code problem You have not provided any indication either in the subject, or the body of your post as to what your problem is, or even the area of the problem. Some people here are EXPERTS in the use of pivot tables. Others are great with accessing specific databases, or in emailing workbooks. If your problem relates to one of these topics, you want these experts to spot your question and jump right in. As presented, your question requires research on our part before we even know if we have the expertise (or interest) in helping. And really, if the person you want to give you assistance only has 10 minutes to share, you don't want him/her spending 9 of those minutes trying to decide if your question is in his area of expertise. As it is... you question is why the code: Workbooks.Open (D:\12-13\book2.xls) only works on one PC, and not the others. My guess is that the other PC's do not have their D:\ drive is mapped the same as the first PC. If you cannot go the machine in person and look for yourself, I'd suggest send a link to the folder and see if they can open it. Another item that's somewhat suspicious... In nearly all of the PC's in my business (2,000 of them) and each of the (4) of my machines at home, the C:\ is the internal hard drive, and D:\ drive is a CD drive or a second hard drive. I believe Windows, by default, reserves the D:\ drive for use for removeable media. I find the use here as suspicious. I'd say, go to the machines and check it out. Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Modify VBA Code to Send Email Directly without Displaying
Thanks Boss But its not what i want, let me explain better. if you open the attached file i sent together with the email earlier, when you activate the send button, outlook will open for the email to get ready to send, when the mail with attachments pops up, you would have to clicj send and the email will get sent. Ordinarily, this is ok, however if i need to send the same email to 100+ people, it means that 100+ emails will open, i would then have to click send a 100+ times to send all the emails, so what i am seeking help is to modify the code such that, when the send email button is clicked, it will send the email directly without each mail poping out. thanks On Mon, Nov 12, 2012 at 5:39 PM, v...@vabs.in wrote: ** Hie For this you need to disable security level.. http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/outlook-help/i-get-warnings-about-a-program-accessing-e-mail-address-information-or-sending-e-mail-on-my-behalf-HA001229943.aspx Refer link for details. RE: $$Excel-Macros$$ VBA macro quiz #1
I like the questions. Very good introductory questions on a variety of VBA topics. For question #8, I suspect the question intended could be better phrased Which of these is a datatype most specifically for storing decimal integers in a variable? (several of the datatypes listed store decimal numbers, more than one can store decimal integers precisely, but only one of those is limited to storing integers.)
