RE: $$Excel-Macros$$ Macro for word & phrase recongnition & count of them

2014-11-12 Thread Amit Desai (MERU)
Dear Ashish,

Thanks a lot for your efforts. However, I need the output in the same way as in
my file...only difference is, the current file is not able to process text in
cell with special characters.

Hi

Check this..

You need to create helper sheet to list all unique values if condition
matched..

First i created unique list for first condition met then for second & third
& for 4th..

Then using offset function i used those unique values in list box / data
validation...

HTH/Cheers!!

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Issue with: Open Sheet, Copy Sheet, Close Sheet, Retain Clipboard, Paste

2014-11-12 Thread Paul Schreiner
When you open the new workbook, it will be "active"
using something like:
WbName = activeworkbook.Name

will store the name of the open workbook.

later:

Workbooks(WbName).Close SaveChanges:=False

will close that workbook

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Issue with: Open Sheet, Copy Sheet, Close Sheet, Retain Clipboard, Paste

2014-11-12 Thread Bud Windelborn
Thanks! I'm not sure I understand yet though.

When I run this macro, I've already got the sheet
BusinessOrganizerMapping2013.xlsm open. I hit the button to run the macro
and another sheet opens based on the sheet name that's in cell A7 of
BusinessOrganizerMapping2013.xlsm. I can manage the copy and paste just
fine, but I'm unable to close the new sheet that the macro opened
(Incidentally, the reason I need to close the new sheet is that all the
sheets I'm opening have the same name even though they're in different
locations. So when I try to open the second one on the list I get an error
that another sheet with that name is already open).

The issue for me is that I don't seem to be able to re-activate the new
sheet after I've pasted to BusinessOrganizerMapping2013.xlsm. How do I
re-activate, and then close, the dynamically named sheet?

I tried the code you listed, but it didn't quite fit the situation I
describe above.

 Hi,

 I would appreciate if you could help me with this macro:

 *Columns("C:C").Select*
 *Selection.Replace What:="Kč", Replacement:="", LookAt:=xlPart, _*
 *   SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False,
 SearchFormat:=False, _*
 *   ReplaceFormat:=False*

 *Selection.Replace What:="  ", Replacement:="", LookAt:=xlPart, _*
 *   SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False,
 SearchFormat:=False, _*
 *   ReplaceFormat:=False*

 *Columns("C:C").Select*
 *Selection.NumberFormat = "#,##0.00"*

 What is wrong with it? I need to change data in cells from texts
 into numbers. I attach the initial data. In cells there are also
 spaces
 which must be deleted but I do not know how. This macro does not fully
 do
 this. Spaces are still at the end of the cell and between thousands
 but
 then the excel does not take it as numbers..I do not need the currency
 just
 the numbers.

 Thank you in advance for your help!

Use this
formula
=IF(COUNTIF($A$2:$A$64,VLOOKUP(A2,$A$2:$A$64,1,0))>1,"Duplicate","unique")
if you want to be specific for only using vlookup function in this you can
use =VLOOKUP(VLOOKUP(A2,$A$2:$A$64,1,0),A3:A64,1,0) if na received then
value is unique if value retreived value is duplicate. You can't let the
single formula to work alone for retreiving the values.
