$$Excel-Macros$$ Macro Modification

2015-06-19 Thread Bill Q
Hi Guys,

Attached is a spreadsheet and macro that does some web-scraping of
individual web pages..

I need two modifications on this macro that I do not know how to do as I
have little experience.

* Currently the macro will stop after it encounters about 32700 rows. I
would like it to run to a maximum of 1 million rows if needed.

* I would like it to automatically save after every 3 rows - then
continue.

Thank you.

 Hello,

 I need to evaluate an algebraic expression.

 Example  - start

 dim x as string
 a=5cm
 b=4cm
 x=a+b*sin(30deg)

 need to get

 c=7cm

 Example - end

 i.e need to recognize a, b, the trigonometric function, addition operation
 and perform the addition

 I know Mathematica can do that, but I need to use a parsing routine in my
 code

 Thanks

$$Excel-Macros$$ How to extract excel attachment from outlook emails?

2015-06-19 Thread Missy786

I am writing to seek some help in creating a outlook macro, which is able
extract all xls attachment files into one excel workbook (save each
attachment in individual worksheet) from specific outlook folder called
‘data’, which is sub-folder under the Inbox folder.

I manage to find the following code for excel attachment extraction, but
currently struggling to get it to work.

Sub GetAttachments()

On Error Resume Next

'create the folder if it doesnt exists:

Dim fso, ttxtfile, txtfile, WheretosaveFolder

Dim objFolders As Object

Set fso = CreateObject(Scripting.FileSystemObject)

Set txtfile = fso.CreateFolder(ttxtfile  \Email Attachments)

Set fso = Nothing

WheretosaveFolder = ttxtfile  \Email Attachments

On Error GoTo GetAttachments_err

' Declare variables

Exit Sub

End If

' Check each message for attachments

' Save any attachments found

For Each Atmt In Item.Attachments

' This path must exist! Change folder name as necessary.

   'FileName = C:\Email Attachments\  Atmt.FileName

   'if want to add a filter:

   'If Right(Atmt.FileName, 3) = xls Then

   FileName = WheretosaveFolder  \  Atmt.FileName

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: How to extract excel attachment from outlook emails?

2015-06-19 Thread Mandeep Baluja
Simply first get all the attachments(ALL) of specified outlook folder into
your destination folder, then you can easily compiled the xlsx files into
one workbook. you can easliy find a macro to merge all xlsx file reside in
folder to one workbook. if you don't have i will share the same.

(Macro no 1 )Run the below code first.
Sub GetAttachments()

 Dim ns As Namespace
 Dim Inbox As MAPIFolder
 Dim Item As Object
 Dim Atmt As Attachment
 Dim FileName As String
 Dim i As Integer
 Set ns = GetNamespace(MAPI)
 Set Inbox = ns.GetDefaultFolder(olFolderInbox).Folders(Myfolder)
 i = 0
'If you haven't programmed Outlook before some terms here will be

'The NameSpace is the object that gives you access to all Outlook's
folders. In Outlook there is only one and it is called MAPI which is an
acronym for Messaging Application Programming Interface.
'We are going to be referring to a mail folder (a MAPIFolder object) which
we have given the name Inbox but the macro won't know which actual folder
that is until we tell it by giving the variable a value in the next step.
'We will be using Atmt to refer to the attachment objects we are looking
for.
'The FileName variable is a text string that will be used to create a name
and save path for each attachment as it is saved.
'The integer variable i will be used as a counter to log the progress of
the macro.
