$$Excel-Macros$$ Show Differences Between Buy & Sales in Pivot table

2017-06-06 Thread B Sharma
Dear Friends,
I have a database in which the transactions (both buy & sales) of shares
trading has been entered.

I have another sheet in which I need results using Pivot table.

But it calculates the sum of both buy & sales, but I need the subtract of
Buy with sales and show the balance results.

There is an option "Difference of" but it not showing proper results.

*I Can alternatively put minus signs in all the sales transactions but that
is not possible for a big database.*

Any easy alternative solution will be highly appreciable.

Thanks in advance.
B. Sharma

Please carefully check the path of the file which you open in the shared

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Pivot Table from multiple sheets

2015-03-13 Thread B Sharma
Dear André Luiz D´Avila,
Thanks for giving your valuable time for giving reply on my post. But what
you replied is very simple and known to be but not useful as because: -
1. The examplese (i.e. columns) in both purchase & sale sheet will be more
than 50 per sheets. and that too different from each other.
2. What you will do when you have 5000 nos. of purchases and more than 2
000 invoices of sale. Then you will not keep one sheet for both the
transactions.

I have prepared a very well planned excel program to monitor automatically
all the finance / tax & accounts related work and my nos of sheets are very
high. I want to minimize this by way of getting consolidated report through
pivot.

Thanks once again.

Hii Vaibhav,

Happy to know that you are a CA too. That means you are a superman in
accounting line. Because if a person is qualified CA and have good hands on
excel/vba, that means he can do 8 hrs work in just 1 hr.

I am neither a CA nor a VBA expert but have good hands on excel, little bit
of VBA & advance formulas and this helps me a lot in my day to day working.
and minimized my work.

Anyways, you earlier vba helped me a lot.
Thanks man.

Thanks & Regards,

$$Excel-Macros$$ Automatic update excel file from website

2014-10-25 Thread B Sharma
Dear Excel Gurus,
I am trying to update my excel sheet which contains the TIN number of some
of the registered tax payers with their contact details and address. I can
do it manually by putting the TIN number in the below mentioned website and
then copy paste the details in the excel file.

But is there any way to do it automatically with the help of macros / VBA???

https://www.odishatreasury.gov.in/echallan/ChallanSubmission.do?deptcode=COM

In the above mentioned website if you put the TIN number (for
e.g. 21031209766) then it will give the details and can I make it an
automatically copy paste the data in my excel sheet???

Can it be possible with web query???

Please help ..

Last week it suddenly got corrupted and I am now unable to open it ,

While opening it says "The work book cannot be opened or repaired by MS
Excel because it is corrupt"

Please help me in this, its one of the important file of mine.

Secondly, please also tell me what are the risks of keeping excel files in
binary format.
I save some file to reduce the file size..

I have tried, "Open & Repair" option. I have also downloaded some
application which says that they can repair the excel file, but didn;t.

Thanks in advance.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ VBA Code for inserting a row in table in protected sheet

2012-07-06 Thread B Sharma
I am Zero in VBA Macros but attracted toward them just because i know excel
formulas has limitations.
I want to understand the code written by Noorain Bhai..,,

Secondly, the code by Don is perfect for me but there is a problem, i.e. It
add a row in the sheet , not in the table only.

So suppose if I have two tables in a sheet then it will delete the row from
each of the tables.

Thanks..

$$Excel-Macros$$ Formula Sorting Data (Alpha + Numeric)

2011-10-13 Thread B Sharma
Dear Excel Experts (and to my friends who have answered to my
earlier queries)

>From a long time, I am searching for a formula which can sort the list
and represent the unique datas only

for Example , In column 1 I have the following data

52
86
92C
94B
94B
195
193
ABC
XYZ
87
94J
94B
94K
94C

like this...
I want a output in column B where it will ignore the duplicate items
and sorted figures.

I think its quiet difficult but please try this ...

Thanks & Regards,
B. Sharma

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Selecting a date from a database, which equal to or lesser than the selected date

2011-10-13 Thread B Sharma
Thanks to all . almost every formula is working

Actually my problem is the following
I have 3 coloums

"Rate w.e.f.
(dd-mmm-yy)"Item Rate

01-Apr-10 Bulb 5.00
15-Apr-10 Bulb 6.00
01-Jul-10 Bulb 7.00
30-Jul-10 Bulb 8.00
15-Aug-10 Bulb 9.00
31-Oct-10 Bulb 10.00
01-Apr-10 Light 11.00
15-Apr-10 Light 12.00
01-Jul-10 Light 13.00
30-Jul-10 Light 14.00
15-Aug-10 Light 15.00
31-Oct-10 Light 16.00
01-Apr-10 Switch 17.00
15-Apr-10 Switch 18.00
01-Jul-10 Switch19.00
30-Jul-10 Switch20.00
15-Aug-10 Switch21.00
31-Oct-10 Switch22.00

I can sort the above columns as and when required

So In Column DEF I have the following criterias...
Date Item Rate(Formula)
14-Aug-10 Switch 14

The formula for column F is the following...
=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A18=SUMPRODUCT(MAX(($A$1:$A$18<=K7)*($A$1:$A
$18*(B1:B18=L7)*(C1:C18))

Do anyone have any other small formula (i need because I have to
add this formula with other formulas in a very large database)

Thanks & Regards,

PLease also tell me why there is no option to attach files here... how
the other users are attaching their files.

BS

$$Excel-Macros$$ Selecting a date from a database, which equal to or lesser than the selected date

2011-10-12 Thread B Sharma
Dear Excel Experts
I want to select a date which is either equals to or lesser than the
select date.

For Example

in Column 1 I have different dates

01-Apr-2010
01-Jul-2010
15-Aug-2010
01-Oct-2010
15-Nov-2010
08-Aug-2010

 (sorted and un sorted both)

In Cell B2 I have entered a date, say. 15-Sep-2010
In Cell C3 I want a formula which will return the date either equals
to B2 or 1 time lesser than it.
In this case the result will be 15-Aug-2010

$$Excel-Macros$$ UDF needed urgently..

2011-08-20 Thread B Sharma
Hello to every excel expert

I very very urgently needed a UDF which will enhance the possibilities
of giving criterias in the function DSUM

For Example
Dsum(database,field,criteria)
currently I am able to select like this dsum(A1:J100,C1,M1:R2)

that means only 1 field can be selected and one series of criteria can
be given

Now I want I can select more than one field at a time and more
criterias located at different places.

Please help me out as early as possible as I am going to Kolkata on
Monday and have to submit a large database and i think this UDF will
help me a lot...

$$Excel-Macros$$ How to use Multiple criteria in DSUM function...

2011-08-16 Thread B Sharma
Hello to Excel Experts and other users of this group.

I've been looking everywhere about how to put several criteria in
different cell ranges in:

DSUM(database, field, criteria).

I have a very large database and using Dsum and I am using different
different criteria in different different columns.

Normally you put for example A1:G2 and everything works fine. Now the
problem is that I have quite many criterias that are common for
several DSUM() and I would like to split the criterias into for
example A1:D2 and G1:G2.

I've triad DSUM(database, field, {A1:D2, G1:G2}) (cannot use arrays
with refernces..),
DSUM(database, field, A1:D2, G1:G2) (too many arguments..).. etc.

What can I do?

If anyone has an idea please let me know !!

B. Sharma

2010-12-30 Thread B Sharma
Dear Friends,
Firstly I want to thank you all for making and using this wonderful
educational site. Its really superb.

I am somewhat good in excel inbuilt formulas & functions and able to
complete most of my work through that.

But I need your help as I want to learn VBA programming & Macros and
want to automate my working.

Please suggest me the way, I want to know how to write programs
starting with some small programs in a easy language along with the
meaning /definition of objects, array, classes, etc.
How to write programmes.

Along with this I will appreciate if peoples send me their working
files, learning books, etc. through which I can learn programmes, etc.
