I have piece of MACRO as below,

Sub LaunchHMRCMARK()
Dim NTCUSER As String
MARKPATH = InputBox(Enter HMRCMARK PATH -  )
'Filename = InputBox(Enter XML file name here - )
Set oshell = CreateObject(WScript.Shell)
oshell.Run cmd, 9
Sleep 100
oshell.SendKeys (cd )
oshell.SendKeys MARKPATH
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
oshell.SendKeys (Set PATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_07\bin;%PATH%)
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
Sleep 100
oshell.SendKeys (hmrccsp)
Sleep 100
oshell.SendKeys ( )
'oshell.SendKeys FILEPATH
'Sleep 100
'oshell.SendKeys (\)
'oshell.SendKeys Filename
'oshell.SendKeys ({ENTER})
End Sub

Once I run this, it generates a set of XML Code into Command prompt (DOS)
window.
I would like to extract this text string and store it on Excel,

My question is, will MACRO be able to do this?

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Re: popup on s sheet ?

2010-06-01 Thread kamal shah
Its Possible !!!

Here is a solution what you are looking.

Add a Picture to an Excel Comment

   1. Right-click the cell which contains the comment.
   2. Choose *Show/Hide Comments*, and clear any text from the comment.
   3. Click on the border of the comment, to select it.
   4. Choose *Format*|*Comment*
   5. On the *Colors and Lines* tab, click the drop-down arrow for *Color*.
   6. Click *Fill Effects*
   7. On the picture tab, click *Select Picture*
   8. Locate and select the picture
   9. To keep the picture in proportion, add a check mark to *Lock Picture
   Aspect Ratio*
   10. Click *Insert*, click OK, click OK

Description: MS-Excel spreadsheet

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: Find Add

2009-01-20 Thread Tariq Kamal
Here is the code to do it

 Cells.Find(What:=Apple, LookIn:=xlFormulas, LookAt _
:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext,
MatchCase:= _
False, SearchFormat:=False).Activate

ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 =  Mr.   ActiveCell
In the first line of code it asks what do you want to searc like i have put
Apple and then in teh last line it says that when it finds apple then the
cell containing apple wil be active and then it says to put Mr. before
apple...

If you want you can refer a cell and then put different thing in it to
search and when ever you run the macro it will search and put Mr. before it,
for that the code will be changed as

Cells.Find(What:=Worksheets(Sheet1).Cells(1,2), LookIn:=xlFormulas, LookAt
_
:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext,
MatchCase:= _
False, SearchFormat:=False).Activate

ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 =  Mr.   ActiveCell

Here it will search for anythng that is put in B1 of sheet1

Hope it helps

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: Protect Cell Content on Input Result

2009-01-20 Thread Tariq Kamal
It can be doen by writing a simple macro, wherein you will have to use two
properties

You will have to mention that a prticular cell in column A if it is true
then select the corresponding cell in column B / C / D and then

Selection.Locked=True
and
ActiveSheet.Protect (Password)

these two will do the job

On Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 6:09 PM, lukethegooner lukethegoo...@gmail.comwrote:

 Hi all!

 I'm looking to protect a number of cells, or, make them 'read only' if
 you like dependant on the result of the inpurt from a certain cell.
 The spreadsheet I'm composing is to be sent out to a third party for
 input so I want to tie down some detail without making it look too
 daunting.

 To try and put some details here, consider thus

 A  B  C   D
 1   True  1  100%
 2   False

 So in the above example, if the cell A1 was configured 'True' then
 cells B1, C1 and D1 would behave normally and be open to edit.

 If Cell A2 is configured False, then cells B2, C2 and D2 would go
 blank (or display a message) and the cells would become 'read only' /
 inaccessible for edit.

 Can this be done easily in Excel?

 Luke

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: IF-THEN macro

2009-01-14 Thread Tariq Kamal
You have not mentioned any bracket, coma etc anywhere in the code...

Like
if(sheet1.cells(3,39))=4 then

you need to write the code in correct format first.

To lock the cell you can have the following code

Cells.Select
Selection.Locked = True

 Hi all,

 I have a worksheet that contains a column of 8 dropdown lists (combo-
 boxes) from a range in a different sheet. I have the (numerical)
 results of each selection set up to display in a hidden column. In
 another cell, I used the COUNTIF function to count the results of all
 selections 0 (0=no selection).

 What I need to do is, based on that count, use a command button to
 activate another sheet in the same workbook, select a range of cells,
 then copy + paste into yet another sheet.

 Basically:

 if Cell C39=4, then
 Activate Sheet3
 Select range A1:M7
 Copy range
 Activate Sheet2
 Paste range into Sheet2, starting at cell A7.

 --OR--

 if Cell C39=5, then
 Activate Sheet3
 Select range A9:N15
 Copy range
 Activate Sheet2
 Paste range into Sheet2, starting at cell A7.

 etc, etc, when C39 = 6, 7, or 8

 I know it's all pretty much there, but I don't know the VB language.

 I would really appreciate some help! Thank you in advance!

 April

 PS, does anyone know how to lock the contents of an entire sheet once
 that command button has been pressed? thanks!

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: is there any Filter macro

2009-01-08 Thread Tariq Kamal
Hi Shay,

The code for filtering is

Sub filter1()

Dim count As Integer
Dim i As Integer
count = 12
For i = 1 To count
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=2, Criteria1:=Cells(i, 4)
Next i
End Sub

What you need to do is write down the name of all the months in one column
say column D (that's why cells (i,4) ) starting from first row...This way it
will go to row 12 and hence the definition of i from 1 to count, where count
= 12

Hope this helps..
