know how to find out the differences / changes between the twoI want
the changes in every column in new worksheets.

I tried using the pivot table.is my approach the easiest or accurate one.i

$$Excel-Macros$$ Find differences between four columns.

2012-05-02 Thread Mr excel
hi all,
  i m in need of help regarding finding the differences between four
columns i.e. RECEIPT No & AMT. in sheet1 and RECEIPT No & AMT in sheet2.i
would like to know the Formula which will highlight the differences between
the two columns in both sheets.

  Receipt No Total Paid
Receipt No Total Paid 1151886 490
1151886 490  1151882 2100
1151882 2100  1151883 50
1151883 50  1151881 3500
1151881 1500  1151880 4000
1151881 2000  1151894 710
1151880 800  1151894 490
1151880 1200

1151894 710

1151894 490
For example the RECEIPT no:1151881=3500 is splitted into two in the second
worksheet.as 1151881=1500 & 2000.In short i need to lookup the Receipt No
with the amount in worksheet one with the Receipt no with the amount in
worksheet two.i need only THOSE receipt no and Amounts which are different..

Please guide me...

thanks & regards

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Find differences between four columns.

2012-05-02 Thread Mr excel
Sorry Verma,,i had messed up everything here.Got confused with the
requirement.

What i want actually is to find out the differences between the FIRST table
with Receipt No & Amt and SECOND table with Receipt No & Amt.

 Example: The receipt no 1151881 in Master data is 4500
 It should match the Receipt No 1151881 with the amount TOTAL in THIS month
data. i.e. the amount in the second table may be splitted into two or more
lines,but the AMT in Both the tables should be same with the SAME RECEIPT
No's in both tables.
 I want the formula to find out which Receipts with amounts did not matched
the RECEIPT NO & amt in the second table
 Master Data
This Month Data Receipt No Total Paid Receipt No Total Paid
 1151886 490
1151886 490
 1151882 2100
1151882 2100
 1151883 50
1151883 50
 *1151881* *4500*
*1151881* *1500*
 1151880 4000
*1151881* *2000*
 1151894 710
1151880 800
 1151894 490
1151880 1200

1151894 710

1151894 490

$$Excel-Macros$$ Copy & Paste values in adjacent cell

2009-12-06 Thread Mr excel
*Copy & Paste values in adjacent cell*
i had data in html format.i want the data to be splitted into columns in
excel.

*HTML FORMAT*
Employee name
Emp id

johnabraham wesleypeter neiljohn
254800254801 254802  254803

and so on.

i tried copying the data from html to excel. Then applied text to columns
but i m getting incomplete names from this step.

My problem is how would i get the full name in one Column(Column B) & the
emp id in the next Column (COLUMN C).Column A will have the data copied from
html page. The length of the employee name differs. The only saving tip is
that the employee name will suffix with sno like

*Johnabraham -1
254800
*
Any function or VBA routine will help me.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Calculate Due dates

2011-05-04 Thread Mr excel
For example,
The billing cycle for supplier A is 5th of this month to 4th next
so all the transactions pertaining to Supplier "A" will be billed in this
period.
Here in this example, there is only one transaction related to "A" and the
billing is done for the month of jan'2011 so in the month column
Jan'2011 should be displayed as this single transaction is done between 5th
of Jan'2011-4th Feb'2011
Likewise for all the other suppliers…
Hope I had made it clear.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Calculate Due dates

2011-05-06 Thread Mr excel
dear ashish,,

   That is excellent & great.Thanks a lot .The formula u provided is
very nearer to the solution i wanted.everthing is same except in the month
column of the sheet.Name of the month should be printed like April'2011
instead of *05-Apr-2011   TO  04-May-2011*.

the above formula also is very helpful to me in another scenario..

Really my joy knew no boundaries..

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Calculate Due dates

2011-05-11 Thread Mr excel
what i meant is instead of the period,the formula is showing as a result the
formula should return only the month with the year.
For example,*05-Apr-2011   TO  04-May-2011*.
should return apr'2011.

hope this is not confusing you...ashish...

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Calculate Due dates

2011-05-14 Thread Mr excel
Thanks ashish bhayya for that great formula.Upon drilling deep into the
formula & the result,i feel we are into the logical error.To make it clear,
for Supplier A, if the transaction date is *12/05/2001*.the formula should
return the previous month just like, *05-Apr'2011 TO 04-May'2011.Kindly
update the formula.
Thanks in advance.

  wsNew.Name = c.Value
  rng.AdvancedFilter Action:=xlFilterCopy, _
  CriteriaRange:=Sheets("Sheet1").Range("L1:L2"), _
  CopyToRange:=wsNew.Range("A1"), _
  Unique:=False
Next
ws1.Select
ws1.Columns("J:L").Delete
End Sub

*Macro 2:*
Option Explicit
Sub MakeRepSheetsSAS()
Dim c As Range
Dim lr As Long
Dim slr As Long

Application.ScreenUpdating = False
With Sheets("sheet1")
.Columns("C:C").AdvancedFilter Action:=xlFilterCopy, _
  CopyToRange:=Range("J1"), Unique:=True

lr = .Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Row
slr = .Cells(Rows.Count, "j").End(xlUp).Row

For Each c In Range("j2:j" & slr)
.Range("A1:G1").AutoFilter
Sheets.Add After:=Sheets(Sheets.Count)
.Range("A1:G" & lr).AutoFilter Field:=3, Criteria1:=c
.Columns("a:g").Copy Range("a1")
 ActiveSheet.Name = c
'.Range("A1:G" & lr).AutoFilter
Next c
.Range("A1:G" & lr).AutoFilter
End With
End Sub

These are the macros in the example quoted earlier in this post.My Request
is that, how would i modify the macro to suit my needs

My requirements:
1.On entering the data in the main sheet.(sheet1) here.Worksheets to be
generated basing on the new reps added.
2.after the new data is added to the sheet, Rows should be updated on entry
to the respective sheets based on reps.

Everything is same but only the macro is run with the data in the main sheet
in the actual scenario.but whereas,in my requirement i need the data to be
updated immediately on entry in the main sheet.

Hope i had explained it better..Thanks in advance for sparing time...

$$Excel-Macros$$ Update sheets on Enter

2011-10-03 Thread Mr excel
Hi group,

   I had been struggling with a solution for a problem from many
days..
Recently i had seen a macro in this group which is very much nearer to my
problem.The sample data is taken from one of the previous examples given by
guillet.

Going by the same sample data :
the main sheet contains the following columns with data underneath it.
*Date* *Region* *Rep* *Item* *Units* *Cost* *Total* *
*
I want sheets to be added & updated based on each Region and with the date
in the chronological order.
If a sheet exists already with the REGION NAME there is no need to add the
sheet with the same name instead new data should be added from the main
sheet to the respective sheets (REGION wise)

I had attached the worksheet for reference.Kindly help me

huhh..My COmmunication is sucking day by day...sorry guillet.i could not
communicate to you properlyHope this time i could make it clear

>From the Worksheet *MAKESHEETS example *given by you.You are
adding/creating sheets based on the REP cell...Here the macro starts only
when it is run manually.
Instead,i want the same type of solution.I.e. adding/creating sheets when a
new row with new data is entered into the main sheet.

To elaborate more in detail,when a new row is entered after the 44th row in
row 45.the macro needs to be run automatically adding new worksheet based on
the column REP.

If all the sheets are added to the workbook previously the REP in the new
row should be added to the existing worksheet which was added before the
present row.The new row should be added to the worksheet underneath the
previous row.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Update sheets on Enter

2011-10-04 Thread Mr excel
I m interested in learning macros don.only reason i m asking repeatedly is
this situation will be very helpful for me in my work.i just want the
workbook to update sheets as and when a new row is updated in the main
worksheet.

I need to see the whole details when demanded in my work.the example you had
provided is exactly the same i required.only change needed is that when a
new row is added it should go to the exact worksheet(REP based).

Oh my God now i understood why you people are offering me different
solutions when i m explaining it in clarity.I had used the pivot table in
the main sheet just to check whether all the rows updated are exactly the
same.(counting no of rows).thats it.

i had studied a little bit on searching in this forum.and learnt that i need
to use the
Worksheet Change Event.is it exactly the same don which i need to use

Any ways,thanks for all the help given by you all...Especially DON..

the system date). Tell me how to get this code work with out any problems.
Thanks in advance.
