Andy, Firstly thanks for putting this reply up. This is indeed the best option I know of and I have also been using just the exact way to find out which of the cells in my workbook contain formulas. I do not think it is a drawback that it considers only 1 cell at a time, it is the way the spreadsheets work - each cell has its own formatting definition. Abdul - You can use this UDF and refer it through conditional formatting. You can either apply this UDF to whatever range you want in your spreadsheet.
