Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Recover excel file opening passowrd
There are many ways to recover a password. You can search Google: "Excel Password Recovery" provides over 3 MILLION results. however, many user groups discourage using the group to accomplish this (see Forum Rule #3) the main reason is that programmers/developers make a living from designing solutions using Excel and often protect their "intellectual property" using passwords. A group (such as this) has no way of knowing if you are the ACTUAL owner of the Excel workbook, or merely trying to unlock someone else's work. sorry, Paul - “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.” - John Wesley - > > From: hemal shah >To: excel-macros@googlegroups.com >Sent: Monday, August 25, 2014 6:37 AM >Subject: $$Excel-Macros$$ Recover excel file opening passowrd > > > >Dear Expert > > >I have forget the passowrd of my old excel file .is there anyway to recover >the password. >? > > >Please help it is urgent -- >Are you =EXP(E:RT) or =NOT(EXP(E:RT)) in Excel? Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Recover Excel File
There are many possibilities, but most depend on your computer system. Do you (or someone else) regularly back up your folders? If this is a company computer, does someone else back up the folders where you stored this file? If so, then the file can be restored from the last backup. If not, then: Do you have your Excel set up to do "autobackup"? If so, then check your configuration and find the location for the backup file. BUT, if you've continued to work on the file, chances are that this backup has been replaced. Other than that, unless you've made a copy, your file has been permanently changed. - On files that I worry about being corrupted before saving, I include a BeforeSave event macro that keeps a weekly copy of the file before saving. That is, the first time every week that a file is saved, it retains a copy. That way, at least I can restore the file to the state it was in at the beginning of the week. It also deletes backups over 4 weeks old.
