Hi Amit,

This situation, I have to give suggestion.

you have to write VBA script for below mention point.

1) In Sheet 1, wherever formulas are there you have to write macro
2) create new sheet, Copy data from sheet 1 and paste it to new sheet.

I hope your formulas in sheet 1 still there, and all sheet are interlinked.

2011-10-27 Thread Paul Schreiner
I agree with Don.
The first thing I do is delete all requests that do not describe the problem in
the subject line.

Posting Tips:

Subjects like Urgent Help Needed convey no valueable information.
the problem isn't urgent for ME, and if the poster didn't need help, he/she
wouldn't be posting.

Next, I consider myself an expert in many facets of Excel and VBA, but
I have very little experience in Pivot Tables.
Therefore, I skip questions outside of my areas of expertise and let someone
who
knows what
they're talking about answer those questions.

So, Subjects that sound interesting, challenging, or within my areas of
expertise, I'll open and look at.
If the author didn't feel like wasting his time writing a descriptive subject
line, I don't feel

obligated to waste my time trying to figure out what he needs help with.

I receive HUNDREDS of emails every day...
I get to choose which ones to open...

just my opinion...

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Urgent Help needed

2010-11-02 Thread Aindril De
Hi,

It looks like your calculations are not working as you are Displaying the
numbers as text. For Example:
The following Formula:
=
IF(sheet1!Q274,1,IF(sheet1!Q269,2,IF(sheet1!Q264,3,IF(sheet1!Q259,4,IF(sheet1!Q249,5,IF(sheet1!Q244,6,IF(sheet1!Q239,7,IF(sheet1!Q229,8,IF(sheet1!Q21,9,)

Can be written as:
=
IF(sheet1!Q274,1,IF(sheet1!Q269,2,IF(sheet1!Q264,3,IF(sheet1!Q259,4,IF(sheet1!Q249,5,IF(sheet1!Q244,6,IF(sheet1!Q239,7,IF(sheet1!Q229,8,IF(sheet1!Q21,9,)

1 (text) changed to 1 (numeric)

After you have modified your formulas, then in the final column you can use
the formula:

=IF(COUNTIF(A2:BL2,missed)8,Missed,SUM(D2,H2,L2,P2,T2,X2,AB2,AF2,AJ2,AN2,AR2,AV2,AZ2,BD2,BH2,BL2))

Copy down the formula to the last row of your range and it should give you
the desired result.

Andy

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Urgent Help needed

2010-11-02 Thread ayoub Kakande
the columns in total are over 15 so if more than 8 columns have data in them
I want to get a sum of th least 8, but if only 7 columns have data then the
sum shoulld not be put in.
coz what might happen is if some one attempted only 3 subjects it might
compute his sum which i don't want.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Urgent Help needed

2010-11-02 Thread ayoub Kakande
Thanx Aindril,
I appreciate.
Only that it's doing the reverse, it's finding sum for those who attempted
less than 8 subjects.
What I wanted is it finding sum if only one atempted either 8 or more
subjects
the sum found should be for the least 8 subjects of all the attempted
e.g 1) If some one attempted 12 subjects it should find the sum for the
least 8 subjects
   2) If some one attmpted only 7 subjects it shoould insert the word
missed some subjects
   3) if some one attmped 8 subjects it should find the sum of those 8
subjects
Tahnx very much

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Urgent Help needed regarding using macro

2010-06-29 Thread GAURAV JAIN
Hi Dilip,

Discription is nice one.

Cheers,
Gaurav Jain

On Sat, Jun 26, 2010 at 11:15 PM, Dilip Pandey dilipan...@gmail.com wrote:

 Hi Swapnil,

Below is a little explanation of the formula which I had used:-
Hope you will like it :)

 SUMPRODUCT(--($A$2:$A$483=A2),--(D2$D$2:$D$483))+1

Above formula will also work if you enter like below:-
 SUMPRODUCT(-($A$2:$A$483=A2),-(D2$D$2:$D$483))+1

But ideally you should use -- (two times minus sign), which results in
 mathematical funda i.e., - x - = +

So if you evaluate the function SUMPRODUCT(($A$2:$A$483=A2)), you will
see that there are two TRUEs you are getting and by applying only one
minus (-) sign in the formula SUMPRODUCT(-($A$2:$A$483=A2), you will
get -2 and if you apply two minus sign in the formula
 SUMPRODUCT(--($A$2:$A$483=A2), you will +2 or 2 ( positive numbers
 have + sign as default)

Let me start step by step:-
SumProduct is kind of Array functionality, here it considers the range
wherein data in column A is equal to A2 which is Class1 and then
corresponding to it considers the range where the data in Column D is
 greater then D2 234.
So if you consider data only related with Class 1 (filter the data on
Class 1 in column A), you will see that there is no data row which is
greater than 234 and there is one data row which is greater than 9.
Now if you add 1 to both these results i.e., adding 1 to None (1+0 =
 1) and adding 1 to 1 (1+1=2), you will get the desired Ranking and
this is why I have added 1 at the end of each formula.

This is the main reason why I love SumProduct function :)

Alternatively, you can also use below array formula with sum
functionality which can deliver same results:-

 {=SUM(IF(($A$2:$A$483=A2)*(D2$D$2:$D$483),1,0))+1}

Now, I leave this to you to learn and understand :)

 {=SUM(IF(($A$2:$A$483=A2)*(D2$D$2:$D$483),1,0))+1}

Now, I leave this to you to learn and understand :)

Hi Swapnil,

Below is a little explanation of the formula which I had used:-

Alternatively, you can also use below array formula with sum

{=SUM(IF(($A$2:$A$483=A2)*(D2$D$2:$D$483),1,0))+1}

Now, I leave this to you to learn and understand :)
