OWA Customization Issue.(GetSelectedXML)

2002-04-19 Thread Vijayakumar, T

Hi,

Iam working with OWA Customization,
I have added some buttons in Main Page,
If user click the button after selecting mail item,
it has to dispaly the selected item details like URL,CONTENT CLASS etc
this we can achieve through GetSelectedXML( ).
This i tried in one exchange server 2000 with SP1 machine,
its working fine. The same way i tried in another Exchange Server 2000 with
SP3
but its giving Error saying that Object does not support this method.

Iam using Java Script.

If any one have idea about this problem
pls let me know.

Thanx

vijay

RE: e-mail to draft box

2002-04-19 Thread Andy David

Shultz!
Schell32! Schell32!

Outlook? Slipstick!
A little VBA code should be able to do this quite easily.
Or simply do not send any email you create and it will automatically be
saved to the Drafts folder after a few minutes - assuming you have that
option enabled - or perhaps I am not understanding what you want to do.

Well lets say outlook2K. With using the shell32 it uses the default program
doesn't it.

can I use the schell32 to save the e-mail instead of sending it?

Why go to all that trouble. A drafts folder is setup by default in 'Outlook.
Just save the email to that folder before sending as normal. What type of
client are you using?

e-mail to draft box

2002-04-19 Thread Brett Wesoloski

Is it possible to create an e-mail and send it to the draft box.

I will be using the shellexecute shell32.dll. I know how to create it and
fill the fields I just want it to be put in the draft box. Or any folder
for that matter. So I would create all these e-mails and when the user had
time they could view them and send them.

TIA,

You forgot the "/y" on the end since it's going to ask you to shut down
all the dependent services. You would also need to run the script twice
to get all the services to go down.

You forgot the "/y" on the end since it's going to ask you to shut down
all the dependent services. You would also need to run the script twice
to get all the services to go down.

Hello everyone,
We are currently running Exchange 5.5 with SP4. One of my user who is
running outlook 2000 has a problem retreiving her free/busy information. To
be specific, when she looks for other users availability on the meeting
calendar, everything seems to be fine. But if sometimes is looking for her
availability on the calendar or if they try to schedule a meeting for her,
then they are getting a message saying "No information. No free/busy
information could be retrieved". Can anyone help with this please? I
couldn't find any information regarding this no where. I tried recreating
her mail box and still she has the same problem. Please help. Any tip is
welcome. Thanks.

RE: custom recipient

2002-04-19 Thread Tom Meunier

I'd bet that a solid 30% of domains out there have improperly configured
in.addr.arpa zone files. And some of them can't do anything about it,
because their ISP simply doesn't care, and wouldn't care even if the DID
understand what they were doing to their customers. Which typically
they don't. Because they staff themselves with guys whose
qualifications are "built a redhat network in my parents' garage so my
friends and I could play Quake"

I am working in an Exchange 5.5 environment. (It has been three years since
I last worked in 5.5.) I remember using a Formula to estimate the
requirements for Disk Space usage. It was based on #objects, limitation of
mailbox size, "Tombstones", and length of time in which a user could
retrieve deleted messages. Does anyone remember this formula?

RE: custom recipient

2002-04-19 Thread Tom Meunier

At this point I would say "yes", and not just for MCI. Many
administrators are requiring RDNS (most notable AOL) these days as a
first-line anti-spam measure. I telnetted into MCI's smtp box from a
machine with no public RDNS info, and noticed that MCI checks recipient
names during the smtp conversation. It verified that it was a valid
address (or gave me "eye candy" that looked like it had), took the
entire conversation, and then bounced it within 30 seconds or so with
the same "no such recipient" message as you'd received. Then I sent an
email to that recipient from my mail server, which does have properly
configured RDNS in the public zone files, and it hasn't bounced yet.
But I've only given it five minutes, and I asked that user to please
respond to me if they receive the email. Is it a known live user?

It means that (in this PARTICULAR case, anyway) your DNS isn't properly
set up. It would appear that MCImail.com has begun requiring valid
reverse DNS lookup before allowing SMTP communications. I hope you
don't pay your DNS guy as much as you pay your antivirus guy.

Hi all,

I am looking for recommendations on a book to learn VB scripting. I did a
very basic course some time ago on VB so decided by first steps into
scripting would probably be easier if I started with VB. I would class
myself as a beginer and would be interested in any recommendations.

TIA

Paul

Richard,

What part of "The recipient name is not recognized" are you not getting?
Did you validate that MCImail mailbox by looking at the header of the
most recent inbound e-mail from it and comparing?

The ip error looks more like a sendmail error, not Exchange.

It means that (in this PARTICULAR case, anyway) your DNS isn't properly

Re: custom recipient

2002-04-19 Thread Mike O'Toole

Richard,

What part of "The recipient name is not recognized" are you not getting? Did
you validate that MCImail mailbox by looking at the header of the most
recent inbound e-mail from it and comparing?

The ip error looks more like a sendmail error, not Exchange.

OT: VB scripting for beginners

2002-04-19 Thread Bendall, Paul (KBPB)

Hi all,

I am looking for recommendations on a book to learn VB scripting. I did a
very basic course some time ago on VB so decided by first steps into
scripting would probably be easier if I started with VB. I would class
myself as a beginer and would be interested in any recommendations.

TIA

Paul

Where are you failing to see this new server? Is it when connected to a
client that is accessing the E2k server?

That particular article addresses the inability of users on the E5.5 server
to see users on the E2k server. This is a problem with the ADC or the SRS.
This problem would not be seen on the E2k server unless you were connecting
to the SRS on the E2k server with the E5.5 admin program. If your first E2k
server is failing to see the new E2k server in any other place, it would be
a problem with AD replication.

Take care, however, that you only reboot your GCs from the LEFT hand

1. Make sure the RUS is pointed to a GC and not just a DC. This helps.
2. Reboot the GC. It's amazing how many issues this really resolves.
3. Make sure your ADU&C is connected to the GC. 4. Turn up logging on
the MSExchangeAL (all 5 to maximum) and look for any problems. Verify
that you see the user being querried and that it updates them.

For some reason, all of sudden, when I try to create a new account on my
Exchange 2000 SP2 computer they never get access. I create an account
through AD Users and Computers, but an email address is never put in the
field, even if I do an Update now on the Recipient policy. I can't think
of anything that changed. I was able to create an account last Friday
just fine. I don't see any error in the Event Viewer either. I even
rebooted too.

Any suggestion?

RE: Accounts not being created

2002-04-19 Thread Jeffrey A.. Beckham

1. Make sure the RUS is pointed to a GC and not just a DC. This helps.
2. Reboot the GC. It's amazing how many issues this really resolves.
3. Make sure your ADU&C is connected to the GC.
4. Turn up logging on the MSExchangeAL (all 5 to maximum) and look for
any problems. Verify that you see the user being querried and that it
updates them.

Conversation: Accounts not being created
Subject: Accounts not being created

For some reason, all of sudden, when I try to create a new account on my
Exchange 2000 SP2 computer they never get access.
I create an account through AD Users and Computers, but an email address
is never put in the field, even if I do an Update now on the Recipient
policy.
I can't think of anything that changed. I was able to create an account
last Friday just fine.
I don't see any error in the Event Viewer either. I even rebooted too.

Any suggestion?

2002-04-19 Thread Schwartz, Jim

OK.
A Dr. wants to send medical records to the CDC or other informational
gathering body. The e-mail needs to be verified that it does not violate
HIPAA, Graham-Leach-Bliley, and or the Code of Federal Regulations Title 21
– Part 11 with respect to FDA clinical trials. You pick.

What about a workflow/compliance application? For example, a message is sent
by user A to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The message needs to be checked for
compliance to state/federal laws. (i.e. can't say guarantee when talking
about investments) The compliance officer then needs to pass the message
along as if he never read it. It should look as if user A sent the message.

RE: Mixed Sites

2002-04-19 Thread Stephen Mynhier

Where are you failing to see this new server? Is it when connected to a
client that is accessing the E2k server?

That particular article addresses the inability of users on the E5.5
server to see users on the E2k server. This is a problem with the ADC
or the SRS. This problem would not be seen on the E2k server unless you
were connecting to the SRS on the E2k server with the E5.5 admin
program. If your first E2k server is failing to see the new E2k server
in any other place, it would be a problem with AD replication.

If this is for an application, I hope you've got very strong
management/legal support for what you're doing. Your users probably won't
like the idea of some automated process sending out emails impersonating
them.

1. Discard anything Tener says out of hand and

Use the ShellExecute shell32.dll which will call the default e-mail program.

If this is for an application, I hope you've got very strong
management/legal support for what you're doing. Your users probably won't
like the idea of some automated process sending out emails impersonating
them.

I was going to say the same thing. This is a 100% completely unacceptable
situation. I would never agree to this and I suspect if your Exch admin is
worth anything, he will say the same.

Are both of these in the same domain?
How many domain controllers do you have?
That information is stored in the active directory, and it is possible
that replication has not occurred b/t your DCs. Have you tried NetDiag

I've just created a new user and new mailbox for that user within the

Is this because I need to wait and if so, why the delay?
