RE: Multiple SMTP ports

2002-10-24 Thread Bob Hollingsworth
They block port 25 except to their mail server which has been very
un-reliable lately. Until I can get a new service, I was hoping to try
to relay the branch mail through our server on another port

Out of curiosity why does the isp block port 25? You're paying for the
service.

I don't think you'll get Exchange to listen on two ports for SMTP, but
you
may be able to accomplish this with your firewall.

Is it possible to make an Exchange 2000 server listen to multiple smtp
ports(i.e. port 25 and 30)? One of our branch offices has there own
mail
server but the DSL isp block outbound 25 and I need to get around this
to
get mail to our server.

Thanks

RE: Exchange 5.5 SBE and Exchange 2000

No. There are 2 companies that have been bought by one person and we
were wanting to have the 5.5 site join the 2000 organization.

Depending on how you define "join", that may or not be practical. Do
they have the exact same organization name?
