Hopefully this isn't to much of a newbie question.

I do scheduling for a variety of techs, And I manage their calendars via
"Open other users folder" under file open. Is there a way to create a
shortcut to the respective users calendar?

exchange 5.5 sp4 nt 4.0 sp6 how much free space should remain on drive where
edb's are. I know to do an offline defrag you need space equal to the
databases to perform this function. Currently databases are 6 gb and 1 gb
with only 1.5 gb free disk space remaining. Store pegs cpu at 100% every 2
days. A reboot takes
care of cpu for the next 2 days. Databases are not growing at increased
rate. disabled av sw. Big problem.
Biggest problem for trouble shooting for us is it takes 2 days for the store
service to consume cpu. Usually my next step would be to replace databases
with new ones to see if they are the problem as per MS. But I can't do this
for 2 days or more. Need better Ideas.

RE: Progr. change PF permissions ?

2002-11-20 Thread Brady, James
Yes, PFAdmin has a batch mode to change the acl's, but I've never tried it.
Here's a some info from the setacl help from pfadmin.

PFAdmin v1.3.0

There has to be a hook, since PFAdmin can change them. I'd guess CDO, but I
don't know for sure.

Script to autocreate mail folder/server side rule

2002-10-08 Thread Brady, James

Exch55sp4, NT4sp5. Checked cdolive.com, but wasn't able to find what I was
looking for. Looking for a way to script the creation of a mail folder and
the creation of a rule forwarding mail (based on subject line) to this
folder for a specified set of mailboxes in the GAL. We have lots of users
who only have access to OWA and have no way to manually create the
folder/rule the organization wants everyone to have.

Thanks ... Jim

RE: POP3/IMAP access

2002-08-21 Thread Brady, James

So, like, where can you configure the settings on the POP3 only server to
fetch mail from other exchange mailbox servers in the same site and
different sites? Any KB articles? Couldn't find any and all my previous
attempts to pop only work on the exchange server that has the user's
mailbox. I know you can perfwiz a server for pop3 only, so I guess it can
be done. Running Exch55, sp4.

RE: POP3/IMAP access

2002-08-21 Thread Brady, James

Umm ... Well, the smtp relays svrs are linux running qmail, so I'd like to
just use them for this also. I guess I could just throw up a POP3/IMAP only
exchange server in the dmz also, but will this redirect pop3/imap requests
to multiple exchange mailbox servers behind the firewall? My understanding
is it's one to one (haven't checked this one out yet). So, the WHY is to
remove the mailbox servers from any direct ip/port exposure to the internet
and have outside the firewall people hit dmz boxes only. Any thoughts?

POP3/IMAP access

2002-08-20 Thread Brady, James

Is there a product out there that allows for POP3 or IMAP access to exchange
server mailboxes from a dedicated (relay) box (in DMZ?) w/o directly hitting
the exchange server?

Thanks,
Jim Brady
