How would you know if the hosts attached (seeming to be specified) are
actually the hosts you specified?
.. you would not.

i'd like to open our exchange server through the firewall, but my boss
thinks this is a 'massive security risk'. i think if i open it just to
specified hosts, then that would be ok. what does anyone else think?

That's where I'm going wrong. I've always scanned it with my scanner set to
delete infected files.

Exchange 5.5 sp4+ W2K (multisite, 35 servers worldwide)

All,

I'm starting the legwork for this project. Talked to MS already but they
don't see beyond Exchange. (simple, just change it and let it replicate)

I've inherited a very old and mismanaged system. Everyone knows the service
account and it probably used in a variety of differant ways attaching to the
Exchange system.

Does anyone know of any utilites to interrogate where and how the service
account is being used. I know this can be a horror show so I want to make
sure I have as many bases covered as possible.

Thanks
Greg

I currently have E5.5 (SP6) installed on a NT 4.0 box. I was trying to
install E5.5 on another W2K box but it is exploding every time during the
install process. I even reloaded W2K and tried loading E5.5 without
service packs, but it still explodes, any suggestions?
