Subject: Exmerge - Copying PST to Mailbox

Hi Folks,
I'm messing with EXMERGE,and have a question that I can seem to narrow down
in my searches.
I have a new W2K server with a fresh install of 5.5 on it.
-I pulled my test mailbox from another site to a PST. All seems ok.
- I created a mailbox of the same name on the new server.
- Attempted to merge pst to new mailbox, but it show 0 mailboxes on the new
server to merge to.

Is this a replication issue? I did KCC, and dir replication, and still no
mailbox. But under the new server in the rec container I see it.?.

Any hints, tips, or links? (I read through Q265441 but it didn't go into the
PST to mailbox steps).

Ron

If you connect to the new mailbox, does the mail you sent it show up??

Ok, done...but still no mailboxes show up in exmerge.
Reason?: I do not think the old mailbox is deleted, or effected...so I think
the message I sent went to the original mailbox. Possible?
When doing this, once I get the PST, should I delete the original
mailbox..THEN create a new one on the new server? I didn't do this because I
want to be sure EXMERGE brought everything over before I delete the old box.

I am running NAVMSE version 2.17 build 75 on my exchange 5.5 server. Are
there any newer versions available for exchange 5.5? I have background
scanning enabled (and combo mode) and still get errors (from outlook) when
sending emails with attachments. Outlook tells me the delivery failed, and
the message seems to disappear for a while (does not even show up in sent
items) but after a few minutes it does get delivered OK (and then shows up
in sent items). I probably just need a faster server as it seems that
outlook is timing out while the server struggles to keep up with scanning.

RE: cleaning a mailbox

2002-12-10 Thread Schuessler, Bob (Efdsouth)
I've used this method several times, even for a "quick disaster recovery".
As long as the directory is OK, it will work fine.

I don't have a lab. How about if I just copy the current priv to another
location and if things don't work I just copy it back. I'm scheduled to do
this in 20 minutes so I'll see what happens.

RE: Directory Export - SMTP address

2003-02-06 Thread Schuessler, Bob (Efdsouth)
Without knowing what the "end result" of the export is, would adding the
e-mail address (Internet) column to the view of the admin tool and then save
window contents get you what you need??

RE: detail of your original Q:
I do not think you can...your going to get the whole 'E-mail Addresses'
field
you could then chop it up with you favorite admin tools to extract just the
SMTP:

Im with steve I mess it up good in excel

True I find mainly 'E-mail Addresses' which has everything I tend to screw
up myself.
now there's a 'Secondary-Proxy-Addresses' field with small 'smtp'

But I do think if you want to modify someones stuff you have to use the smtp
under 'E-mail Addresses' which in capitalized SMTP:
I believe what ever follows the SMTP: in that field will update the entries
SMTP
Note the captial SMTP is key for their default smtp address...at least thats
what my memory is telling me right now...

It is for 55, but the only header I see is 'E-mail Addresses' and that gives
the full DN, is there a header to just grab the SMTP address?

How do you export the SMTP address without the entire DN using admin.exe to
export to a .csv file?
