need server specs for exch 2003
will be migrating 1000 exchange 5.5 users from various exchange servers to a exchange 2003 server within a SAN or Cluster, about 90 gig priv (number arrived by using exmerge). I have been going through microsoft's web site and did find a white paper on deploying 2000 cluster (should be no difference with the exchange version, the concept is the same). Is there anybody that can give me any specs on what they are using in the real world?? public folder restore
exchange 5.5 sp4 environment one of my users erased contact information from a public folder and I need to restore the folder. I got my diaster recovery surver up and was able to restore the info store, of the home server of the folder, and was able to do a consistancy adjuster. this created all the user mailboxes and the structure of the public folders. When I try to open any public folder, the message "contents is unavailable, either the server servicing the folder is down or it has not replicated yet". the diaster server is in the same org/same site as the original server but not the same computer name thanks in advance Rich _ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

e-mails are being cut off
nt4, sp6a exch 5.5 sp4 some users receives e-mails (plain text) from outside sources and only see 3/4 of the message, while some users (on other servers, different sites) see the whole message. The only difference that I could tell is that the users who see the whole message have WESTERN EUROPEAN - ISO in the "tools/options/mail format/international options" and the ones who see only part of the message have WESTERN EUROPEAN - WINDOWS. I can not change the character sets in the "Internet Mail Service Connector" to "western european - windows", it is not listed!! Re: unable to associate nt account to new mailbox
one domain, multiple BDCs. created a user in user manager on Friday. On all the BDC, user manager sees the new account. Exchange 5.5 is on some of the BDCs and when trying to associate the mailbox to the account, the newly created account is not listed. When I try to create a new account in Exchange, the error message says that the account is already created, "error c1034306". I give it a brand new network id, and see it go into user manager, sync the domains. I get out of admin and go back in and look at the account and then re-associate the account, it is not there. _ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

no, the users in questions do not disable it. I did it a few times (enable, logout, login, get the message, have someone send me a message and no message going back, disable OOO, redo message, enanble OOO and start over again. automated office Message not working
exchange 5.5 sp3, nt4 sp6a, using outlook 2000. this is happening on multiple servers. For some users, the out of office feature does not work. They will put it on, close outlook, open outlook, get the message that OutOfOffice is on, but will not send an e-mail back to the sender with the message. Deleteing the user and then recreateing them will solve the problem but I do not want to do this for everyone. Also, (hopefully related), when other users use the "do not deliver before" option to send mail, it will not be sent. the Event Service is not started because it interfers with RightFax. ISINTEG -FIX and ESEUTIL /D was done and really did not fix the problem. am I overlooking something Rich _ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
