I am desperately trying to get rid of EventID 8213 “System Attendant Service failed to create session for virtual machine”. KB 296151 is of no use since there is no \SERVICES\MSExchangeFBPublish key in the registry on my server.
So I decided to try a brute force approach (on a lab server of course). MSExchangeFBPublish service is supported by madfb.dll – Free-Busy processing. I stopped Exchange services, removed any mention of madfb.dll and MSExchangeFBPublish from the registry and rebooted the server. Now EventID 8213 is gone, everything looks fine. I am wondering if the removal of madfb.dll will cause troubles or lost of functionality with Exchange 2000 sp3 organisation running in native mode?
