Ex2k SMTP Smart Hosts and Multiple Servers
Hi, 2 servers not transferring internal mail, same domain, messages stick in SMTP (Remote Delivery) queue for other. I have 2 Ex2k SP2 servers in the same Administrative group . Both are configured to use an external (to Domain) smart host. Both servers can send and receive external mail ok. Networking is a bit odd and may be causing the problem, identical boxes; 3 x Intel 100Mbit aggregated on routable IP. 1 x Intel 1Gbit non-routable IP direct cable connection. Each server sees the other on the non-routable IP and shares, DFS, etc work ok. DNS server records both IP addresses for each. Any ideas? Re: Ex2k SMTP Smart Hosts and Multiple Servers
Did they ever work. Sounds like when installed they set up as separate email domains. - Original Message - From: Paul Christopher [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Exchange Discussions [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, January 25, 2002 7:29 AM Subject: Ex2k SMTP Smart Hosts and Multiple Servers Hi, 2 servers not transferring internal mail, same domain, messages stick in SMTP (Remote Delivery) queue for other. RE: Ex2k SMTP Smart Hosts and Multiple Servers
Um, thanks Tony. Yes this has worked, intermittently. The servers are in the same AG, can be monitored/managed centrally, mailboxes can be moved, etc. I'm thinking I need special connectors or a virtual SMTP.
