Has anyone encountered this? I am desperate as I have checked MS KB and

HELP -- Details Templates --- HELP

2002-01-24 Thread Siro

Hello Exchange gurus, I have a problem I can't resolve.

Situation: Migration phase from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000.
Issue: Customize the various details templates in Exchange 2000 so
they look like as the ones in 5.5.
Problem: Of the different details templates:
1. Users
2. Groups
3. Public Folder
4. Search Dialog
5. Mailbox Agent
6. Contact

I don't have the option to modify the appearance of # 3 and 5, eg the
button "Add", "Edit", and "Remove" are grayed out. Th Help file doesn't
make any difference between the various template, and actually states that
you can modify all of them.

Please help. Thank in advance to anyone,

 Siro

2002-01-24 Thread Chris Scharff

This is the 3rd time I've seen this message posted, there were even 2
replies the first time. If you haven't gotten an answer you like by now,
asking the same question over and over again to this group is probably
sub-optimal. I'd recommend calling PSS and dropping $249 if it's that
important to you.

Help please

2001-12-17 Thread Ronald Mazzotta

I tried this on the exchange 2000 list and got very little information.
I have a setup as follows:

Pix Firewall-->Proxy serv/IIS server-->internal network containing
exchange. We have had exchange 5.5 and OWA running in this config for
some time. We have recently upgraded to Exchange2000 and are now having
a problem connecting with owa 2000. When going to the owa site a login
box comes up to log into exchange BUT it comes up three times then says
access denied. I have the IIS/proxy web publishing set to redirect my
MX record exchange server address to the server but can never log in.
If anyone got ANY ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

the read me file from the O2K resource kit web site. Has anyone had
success with this utility and if so can I get a copy of the prf file that

POP connectors blow.
Dump the POP connector. Setup the IMS and routing, and have your DNS changed
to have the MX record point to your Exch server.

OWA Help

2002-01-16 Thread Steve Iadarola

Hello,

I am having a SH*& load of problems with E2K OWA. We were having problem
with OWA displaying information after logging in to OWA. The form would
display but no info and you could not change to the calendar or contacts.
Installed SSL and the problem was fixed. Well for a few days anyways. All
today OWA stopped working. I get prompted to accept the certificate and log
with UN/PW/Domain. And then I get prompted for the UN/PW/Domain again and
again and again. If I connect to the OWA via the internal IP address it
works fine. If I use the Server Name or the FQDN it continually asks for the
login credentials.

So I looked at the Virtual Directories in IIS and see the ERROR Icon next to
the following three VD: ExAdmin, Exchange and Public. I checked the
properties of the VD and everything is pointing to were it should. Click
cancel and the Property page closes and the error message goes away. Still
not working.

No one has made any changes to the box. It just Stopped working. I can't
figure out why it would work by IP Add and not FQDN or via the Server Name.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please contact me off list and I will
provide you with some more background and config.

TIA,
Steve

Form Help

2002-01-24 Thread Callan, Chris

Okay, now I have created a form, and need some help. I have three different
categories represented by three radio buttons. They are Servers, Switches,
and Routers, now each Radio button is accompanied by a drop down list with
all the different names for each selection. Now I need help in the
following situation when I click on the radio button for Servers, I want the
other two radio buttons, and drop down lists to be automatically greyed
out, and not be available. I know there is going to be alot of work
involved in this, and can use any help anyone can offer.

Need Help !!!

2002-02-14 Thread Klaus Rapl

Hallo,

big Problem:

Exchange 5.5 on Nt 4.0 Server.

1. After starting the DS-service Error "DS_E_ ... insufficient rights to
connect to exchange server" when starting Exchange-Admin: Is it possible to
reset Administrator/Password for Exchange ?

2. After starting Exchange admin there exists the private Information Store,
but no corresponding mailboxes in the DS. When I create a new mailbox with
the same name as the one in the private information store, it is not
possible to read the mails of this user, because there is no replication
between the information store and the mailbox in the DS. What can I do ?

Thanks a lot for help.

First, back-up. Why are you setting up an X.400 connector? Is this a
connector to an X.400 system or to another Exchange site? If it is an
Exchange site, why must you use an X.400 connector versus SMTP or a native
site connector?

Any Ideas? The Q article mentions:

If you receive the following error:

Make sure that Exchange client is installed on the computer that Exmerge.exe

Does anyone know if they literally mean the old exchange client or will
Outlook 2000 suffice?
Anyone have any experience in this?

RE: Help

2002-08-31 Thread Ed Crowley

Well, I'll answer it for you. If you're using the X.400 connector to
connect sites, then complete the "Connected Sites" tab. Leave all the
other X.400 settings alone. If you're using it to connect to a public
X.400 service, then, yes, you have to fill in the myriad settings, and
you must get them right and there's little room for error.

And here's a tip you didn't ask for. When specifying the other Exchange
server to which you're connecting, use an IP address rather than
hostname.

Encryption Help

2002-10-22 Thread James Liddil
I hope someone can help me out here. I am trying to setup encryption between
ourselves and our patent attorney. We us E2K and they are on Lotus
(X-Mailer: Lotus Notes Release 5.0.10 March 22, 2002). I can send them
encrypted mail, but when the send me encrypted mail it shows as a blank
message. When it first arrives in Outlook I see no paperclip in the list
view. If I then doubleclick to open and then close the paperclip appears.
But there is no visible attachment. In the message header I see:

--_-==11AA8DFD213==-_
Content-Type: application/x-pkcs7-mime;
 name=smime.p7m
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment;
 filename=smime.p7m

If I open the message in my IMAP client (Mulberry) I see an attachment called
smime.p7m but it appears to be blank.

The legal firm runs their own cert. Server and I got a certificate for the IT
guy and he also sent me his root cert. Which I also added to his contact. So
I can send him encrypted messages.

The certificates I got from the legal firm have a .p7c extension.

So is this a problem here or a problem on their end? TIA.

Please help!

2003-03-19 Thread Sanjeev Sharma
I have a strange situation here that never occurred before and if I could
use your help to handle it well. One of our unhappy ex-employees not only
sent a nasty email to management but also blind carbon copy most of the
employees in the company through local distribution list he created because
everyone SMTP address is blocked. The reason I said most of the employees
because he used the employee he had that time he left the company so not
everyone got it.

Now my issue is that the management wants me find out the names of the
employees who got this email. One way to do this is to go through
everyone's mailbox which is time consuming process. So, I would like to know
if there is any other way for me to get this accomplished. I would greatly
appreciate your help. Thanks!

the same problems. The cable company told me that my connection was fine
and they could not support me any further since I am using a router.

I have set the exchange server to only relay from the five computers on
my LAN and they user would have to be authenticated by there server
before they could relay to the SMTP VS. Any other thoughts would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Thank you all, I found that there had been a replication problem so I
deleted it and recreeated it and all is well except: there are loads of
duplicate messages, is there an easy way to get rid of them. I have seen
this before when doing exporting of .pst and importing again.

It is logged into exchange and using this mail box no problems. Both

workstation cannot connect to the exchange Server. I keep getting "name
cannot be resolved". I have removed office and reinstalled no help.

Does anyone have any idea's??

On the workstation are you logged into the domain and not logged in locally?

Have you created a new profile and tried again?
Can you log into the workstation as another domain member and successfully
open Outlook?

Journal Help

2002-05-17 Thread Phil

I am using Exchange 5.5 with SP4

I have enabled Journaling and I want to specify which contacts to enable the
Journal for.

Under Tools, Options I selected Journal Options.
In the next screen I can select which contacts to enable the Journal for,
however these contacts are not part of the Global Address list they are my
personal contacts. I have tried everywhere I know to change the listed
contacts to the Global Addres list to no avail. Can anyone help with this?

PS Yes my default contact set is the global address list.

Help with Undeliverable

2001-08-14 Thread Crumbaker, Ron

I installed a New Exchange 2000 and now when someone replies to an
internal email we are getting

Undeliverable
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

The following recipients(s) could not reached:
/0=MPD, Inc./OU=Domain1/CN=Recipients/CN=User_Name on 8/14/2001
The email address could not be found. Perhaps the recipient
moved to a different e-mail organization, or there was a mistake in the
address. Check the address and try again.

Any suggestions on how to add this in Exchange 2000.

Assistant help please...

2001-08-15 Thread Mitchell Mike

Hello again,

Exchange 5.5/Outllook 98. How can a person turn on only Out of OFFICE
Assistant for his mailbox only if they have several mailboxes in their
folder list? This came up yesterday when a secretary to the Vice President
of our company was out of the office. She had turned on Office Assistant
for herself using the tools supplied. When people sent messages to our VP
they received her out of office message.

I did a F! in X admin but didn't find anything useful.

Thanks for your barbs as well as your most appreciated help.

Judging by the cryptic error message, I would say that the account you are
running under doesn't have permissions to access the mailbox in which you
are trying to create the folder.

Hi!
Im working currentl with CDO 1.2.1 and Exchnage 5.5
trying to develop an emailing system
the task that has been assigned to me these days is to
"creat persocnal folder" it means that user should be
able to creat a folder just like Yahoo and hotmail in
their respective mailboxes for ease of use. So i used
the "folders" collection and "folder"
object method "add" to fulfil this task but it gives
me an error and the error is
"Collaboration Data Objects error '8004011d'
You do not have permission to log on. [Microsoft
Exchange Server Information Store -

I hope that someone will help me :) Thanks in advance

RE: Help please

2001-12-17 Thread bmurphy

Upgrade to version 6.0 IOS. Use the Static Port commands to redirect users
to the internal OWA site instead of your Proxy Server first. This works
even if your using a DMZ card. Also, can you clarify "redirect my MX record
exchange server address to the server"?

Also...

How many valid static IP's to you have?
Is your DNS hosted external or internal?
When you upgraded did you change any of the static IP information?

I tried this on the exchange 2000 list and got very little information.
I have a setup as follows:

Pix Firewall-->Proxy serv/IIS server-->internal network containing

RE: Help please

2001-12-17 Thread Ronald Mazzotta

Yeah sorry. My mx record is exchange.domain.com. when a user enters
exchange.domain.com/exchange they hit the proxy. Proxy is set up to
redirect any requests for this address to the internal exchange address.
This is as per M$.

RE: Help please

2001-12-17 Thread Tom Meunier

1. Your MX record has no bearing on the issue - that's solely for mail
routing. You need to worry about where your "A" record (or CNAME if
that's how you're doing it) points.
2. I'm still kind of waiting for you to say that you've followed
Q276388 to the letter. Whether OWA 5.5 works through proxy has nothing
to do with whether OWA 2000 does; they are nowhere NEAR being the same
product.

Yeah sorry. My mx record is exchange.domain.com. when a user enters
exchange.domain.com/exchange they hit the proxy. Proxy is set up to
redirect any requests for this address to the internal exchange address.
This is as per M$.

have a setup as follows:

Pix Firewall-->Proxy serv/IIS server-->internal network containing exchange.
We have had exchange 5.5 and OWA running in this config for some time. We
have recently upgraded to Exchange2000 and are now having a problem
connecting with owa 2000. When going to the owa site a login box comes up
to log into exchange BUT it comes up three times then says access denied. I
have the IIS/proxy web publishing set to redirect my MX record exchange
server address to the server but can never log in. If anyone got ANY ideas I
would greatly appreciate it.

RE: Help please

2001-12-17 Thread Ronald Mazzotta

Yes that article has been followed to the letter. I apologize for the
ms reference so could we get back to this. It is becoming increasingly
frustrating. It SHOULD work.

1. Your MX record has no bearing on the issue - that's solely for mail
routing. You need to worry about where your "A" record (or CNAME if
that's how you're doing it) points.
2. I'm still kind of waiting for you to say that you've followed
Q276388 to the letter. Whether OWA 5.5 works through proxy has nothing
to do with whether OWA 2000 does; they are nowhere NEAR being the same
product.
