Hi, Kim: Start with the basics: can you recreate the problem on your machine? Verify this further by having a user with the problem log onto a machine of a user that doesn't have the problem. That said, Andy's answer about the latest Office SPs warrant more serious consideration. When did it start, was it working before and what was changed are some more helpful questions you could begin with as well. Find the answers to the above and you'll be on your way in no time. Yes, that instant messaging item can cause tons of problems.
