One approach you might want to consider is educating your
users about the use of Personal Folders.

Then, educate yourself about all the problems you will have with
PST's... Remember, PST = bad.

Any suggestions on setting size limits on both the SMTP virtual server
and on idividual mailboxes? I had originally set a 4mb limit on the
SMTP and 200mb limit mailboxes, which no one complained about for 4
years. Some select staff complained and corporate had me remove both
limits.

I'm looking for ammunition to bolster my case to reinstate the limits.
Do any of you use these settings, if so where do you set them?

Thanks for your help!

RE: Exchange Limits

2003-11-03 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
There are many reasons to enforce size limits in an
organization. Many reasons center around storage and
backup considerations. Performance can be hampered the
larger mailboxes are, too.

One very important yet frequently overlooked issue is
SECURITY. Without size limitations, and depending on
other factors, there are certain DDoS attacks that can
result in rendering a whole Exchange Information Store
inaccessible.

One approach you might want to consider is educating
your users about the use of Personal Folders.
