OMTOOL Used FaxSr in a VAX/VMS environment (yes, they ported it to NT). -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:bounce-exchange-103735;ls.swynk.com]On Behalf Of John Matteson Sent: Monday, October 21, 2002 3:00 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Fax Sr. on Exchange Okay... I've reread what I sent and I think I gave everyone the wrong impression. As far as I know Omnitool is still around, still doing business etc. The company that went poof is the company that I worked for at the time VANSTAR/INACOM. This is the company that is just a case file in the bankruptcy court. Each was 4 port card I believe. All the cards were brought up to the same revision of microcode and all the variables on the server were kept to a minimum. But, like I said, one machine ran just fine, the other was in constant need of attention. But it's all a moot point from my point of view since the company no longer exists, except as a case file in the bowels of the bankruptcy court in Delaware. We use it in conjunction with a third party app and it runs pretty well. Every once in a while it brings my server to a crawl and a stop and start of its services clears it up. I have to agree with John, don't rely on their support and hope it works right out of the box. We had two installations of Fax Sr. in two different sites, same organization. Re: Fax Sr. on Exchange
I never had a problem with it. but then again that was years ago and they offered training on it that brought up concerns not it the manuals. Tech. support was good when I used them. Could be they are like everybody else these days.
