RE: Kill new e-mail messages to previous employees personalmail

2002-06-27 Thread Bob Wright

Or you could build a server side rule to delete the messages and not need to
have a profile logged in except the one time to build the rule...
Did this with a help desk app so that the Exchg server would auto-reply with
an invalid subject response to the sender if the subject field didn't
meet certain
content rules, and the auto-responded (i.e. those with bad subjects) never made
it to the mailbox and ran even if there was no client running...
Just have it either delete all incoming to the recipient or auto-reply with
a canned
response hey, he ain't here no more...

I am having a similar problem, I have created a new
mailbox and I made myself the owner, my question now
is how to set the rule to delete messages delivered to
this mailbox. In the past I have not been able to set
a rule that applies to a secondary mailbox. I can set
rules through outlook 2000 rule wizard to apply to may
main box but not to a secondary one ie one setup for
the above purpose. My platform is NT4 and exchange
5.5. service pack 6.

Thanks

Rather than set a mailbox and fill it with smtp addresses from ex
employees do the same with a distribution list and assign no members.
This way the mails will just disappear into oblivion.
