RE: Sending-Receiving Limit

2003-06-08 Thread Scott Pease
Keep reading Example 2... Because the global setting is set to 2 MB,
all of the users in the Exchange 2000 organization are limited to
sending and receiving messages that are a maximum of 2 MB.

So, if you set a user mailbox setting of 3MB, but a global setting of 2
MB... 2MB is all that is ever going to be allowed.

If you wanted to do the same thing as what you have now, you'd have to
reverse where the sizes are set. That is, change your global settings
limit to 3MB, all users would get individual settings of 2MB EXCEPT for
those you want to get 3MB. A fun exercise in scripting and ldifde, if
you ask me. ;-)

Thanks for the article.

Here is my scenario.
Example 2
In this example, the following size limits have been configured:
* The global setting is set to 2 MB.
*
*
* The user mailbox setting is set to 3 MB.
But incoming mails greater than 2 MB never come to mailbox whose
incoming limit is 3 MB. Why is this happening.
Regards, irf.

Dear list,

I have applied a global limit of 2 MB on sending and receiving message
size. One of the user wants to receive 5 MB of mail from Internet, I
have increase the receive limit of that particular user by taking user
property, but it is not working. What can be the problem.

Help in this regard is requested.

Thanks Regards,
Irf.

RE: Sending-Receiving Limit

2003-06-07 Thread Chris Scharff
You're using a Pix with the SMTP fixup protocol (blech) so not able to
test it... But if you've set a limit on the connector of 2MB, user
specified limits will not override. 2MB seems a tad bit onerous.
